Libraries must be accredited and cannot receive grants for two consecutive years. This initiative encourages unique library vernacular in all applications.

The Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) in Texas aims to revitalize downtown areas by funding infrastructure improvements that promote economic activity. This program prioritizes projects that benefit low-to-moderate income individuals while addressing issues of slum and blight. With a funding limit of $1,000,000 and a minimum matching requirement of $20,000, it seeks to enhance public facilities and housing conditions, ultimately fostering viable communities and supporting workforce development.

The Energy Conservation Grant in North Dakota supports energy efficiency improvements in public buildings owned by political subdivisions. Eligible projects include insulation installation, efficient lighting, HVAC upgrades, and weather sealing, with awards up to $100,000 requiring a 50% cash match. Projects must achieve a payback period of 10 years or less, and all energy savings calculations will be reviewed by Community Services. Funding is provided on a reimbursement basis.

Strategic Grants provide larger, targeted investments in initiatives designed to create meaningful, long-term impact in Hamilton County. This funding pathway supports organizations pursuing significant opportunities—such as scaling proven programs, strengthening organizational capacity, or advancing transformational projects—in alignment with HCCF’s priority areas.

Strategic Grants may also support organizations navigating significant funding disruptions, where a targeted investment can help stabilize operations, preserve critical services, or position the organization for long-term sustainability.

What is Funded

Strategic Grants support high-impact opportunities that are significant in scope and positioned for long-term community benefit. Funding may include:

• Organizational capacity-building and expansion
• Transformational or large-scale community initiatives
• Capital campaigns (matching funds required)
• Time-sensitive opportunities to stabilize operations following the loss of significant funding

The Process

Strategic Grants are offered through an invitation-only process. HCCF proactively engages organizations whose work aligns with this funding pathway and demonstrates strong potential to create lasting community impact.

In prioritizing invitations, HCCF often considers organizations with a history of partnership or prior funding, while also remaining responsive to emerging opportunities and community needs.

Organizations that have not received an invitation but believe their work aligns with the goals of Strategic Grants may submit a brief request for special consideration. Due to the limited and highly targeted nature of this funding opportunity, submission of this form does not guarantee an invitation to apply.

The PhRMA Foundation's Translational Medicine Faculty Starter Grant supports early-career researchers at U.S. universities, providing $100,000 for one year. This grant emphasizes innovative research that translates laboratory findings into clinical applications, addressing unmet medical needs. Applicants must be within five years of independent status and collaborate with clinical partners. The program aims to foster a patient-centric approach in translational medicine, enhancing the development of new diagnostics and therapies for improved patient care.

Lennox Area Community Fund

The Lennox Area Community Fund is a charitable endowment established to enhance the vibrancy of our communities and improve the qualify of life for those who call these special places home. Gifts to the fund grow over time thanks to the benefit of a pooled investment that generates long-term asset growth.

A board of local directors oversees the fund and works hand-in-hand with community members and civic leaders to understand needs and explore opportunities throughout the area. Each year, the board awards grants in support of local nonprofits and community-based projects and ideas.

Grants from the Lennox Area Community Fund support projects and programs aimed at enhancing quality of life and addressing important needs throughout our area.

The Translational Medicine Postdoctoral Fellowship by the PhRMA Foundation supports U.S. and non-U.S. citizens in multidisciplinary research training at accredited U.S. universities. The program aims to enhance credentials in translational medicine, focusing on turning laboratory observations into effective medical interventions. The fellowship includes a stipend of $60,000 per year for 12 to 24 months, promoting innovative research that addresses unmet clinical needs in various scientific disciplines.

Introduction

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) administers federal1 and state grant awards to its subgrantees2 to carry out a program. Such entities include primarily school systems (referred to as local educational agencies [LEAs] in statutes), including independent school districts and charter schools; education service centers (ESCs); and, to a lesser degree, institutions of higher education (IHEs), nonprofit organizations (NPOs), and other statutorily allowable organizations.

Program Purpose

The purpose of this grant is to enable an Institute of Higher Education (IHE) to conduct an academic review and comparability of solicited instruments for kindergarten through grade three that assess students’ foundational literacy skills and foundational numeracy skills. The IHE will provide neutral, research-based recommendations on instruments and create a resource to help school systems understand approved options and select those that best meet their needs. As a result of this grant, school systems will use this resource to compare approved instruments, understand what skills are assessed and how they are measured, and examine key similarities and differences across instruments. The resource is intended to support school systems in evaluating alignment to local instructional contexts and goals, student populations, and implementation considerations as they make informed local decisions about assessment selection and adoption to better support their students’ foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes.

The Gus Poesch Research Fund - Student Travel Grant supports floriculture graduate students from The Ohio State University in presenting their research. Grants up to $1,500 are available for educational travel and require submission of an abstract. Successful applicants must report on their trip and acknowledge funding in all publications. This initiative enhances research dissemination and fosters professional development in the floral industry, which faces ongoing challenges in pest management and production efficiency.

The AHNS Presidential Award supports innovative research targeting novel therapeutic approaches in head and neck cancer. With a funding amount of $15,000 for one year, this grant encourages projects that utilize advanced methodologies such as genomics and immune profiling. Applicants must be AHNS members in good standing and provide letters of support from their institution. The goal is to foster research that can lead to significant advancements in treatment strategies for this challenging disease.

The Local Accountability Systems is a district-wide initiative through which districts and open-enrollment charter schools develop a plan to evaluate the performance of their campuses locally. Local Accountability Systems seek to engage the community and district in establishing locally relevant accountability measures, provide parents, families, and communities with detail information about local school performance and progress over time, and continuously improve student performance and preparedness for post-secondary success. 

Dwight Nicholson Medal for Outreach

This award recognizes the humanitarian aspect of physics and physicists created through public lectures and public media, teaching, research, or science related activities. Recognition consists of a stipend of $3,000, Nicholson medal, and a certificate which includes the citation for which the recipient has been recognized. Up to $1,500 will be available for the recipient's travel expenses to the meeting at which the Medal is presented. It will be presented annually.

The Bread & Roses Opportunity Fund Grant supports grassroots initiatives aimed at advancing social, racial, and economic justice in the Philadelphia area. Since its inception in 1977, the fund has provided over $17 million to local organizations committed to collective action and systemic change. Grants are available for special projects or urgent needs, focusing on community organizing rather than social services, and prioritize leadership from within affected communities.

The APA: Essay Prize in Latin American Thought rewards the best unpublished, English-language philosophical essay in Latin American thought, aiming to foster original arguments related to Hispanic American and Latinx experiences. Sponsored by the American Philosophical Association, this annual prize includes a $500 award and publication in the APA Newsletter on Hispanic/Latino Issues in Philosophy. Eligible authors must be APA members and accept the publication terms.

The CORE Funding - AHNS/AAO-HNSF Young Investigator Research Development Award offers $50,000 over two years to support early-career head and neck surgeons in developing research skills in neoplastic disease. This award encourages collaborative projects and requires applicants to submit a detailed budget and letters of support from key personnel. Priority is given to junior faculty and those introducing innovative methodologies. This funding serves as a stepping stone for future NIH grant applications.

The State Energy Program Grant in North Dakota supports energy efficiency and conservation initiatives through funding and technical assistance from the U.S. Department of Energy. Applications are accepted year-round, with a priority for schools and non-profits. Grants range from $5,000 to $50,000, aimed at projects with a payback period of 10 years or less. Eligible applicants must be registered at SAM.gov and submit detailed proposals, including energy savings analyses for specific installations.

The PLTW Computer Science grant supports public and charter schools in Georgia to implement PLTW Computer Science programs. Schools in designated counties can apply for a total of $20,000, distributed over two years, to fund essential course materials and training. Grantees must offer at least two different courses within the 2026-2028 academic years, enhancing education in technology and programming for students. This initiative aims to foster STEM learning and prepare students for future careers.

The Rosenberg Fund for Children supports the educational and emotional needs of children and youth up to age 24 who are linked to targeted progressive activists. Grants can cover tuition, counseling, and other essential services to help beneficiaries thrive despite the challenges faced by their families. The fund emphasizes direct support to programs and providers, ensuring that assistance reaches those most affected by activism-related adversities.

The Linguistics Program, supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), promotes fundamental research in human language. It covers various areas including syntax, semantics, and phonetics, encouraging interdisciplinary projects that explore language production, comprehension, and social factors influencing language change. The program welcomes proposals from qualified scholars, including those focusing on endangered languages, while emphasizing the importance of basic research over applied methods. The Organization Operations Grant, offered by the Maine Arts Commission, provides essential support for 501(c)(3) arts organizations in Maine with annual budgets exceeding $25,000. This funding aims to bolster the arts sector by sustaining organizations, infrastructure, and the creative workforce. Eligible applicants must prioritize the arts in their mission and demonstrate that at least 50% of their programming is arts-related. Awarded funds can cover operational costs incurred between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025.

Fath-Greene Animal Welfare Fund

The Fund supports nonprofit organizations with programs and projects that support animal welfare in the immediate vicinity of Coudersport and Potter County, and surrounding areas.

This initiative supports school systems, parents, and community members in evaluating OER products, ensuring they adhere to Texas educational standards. The project will focus on diverse materials for various educational levels, including advanced math and integrated learning resources, fostering continuous improvement in the quality of education across Texas.

American Physical Society

The American Physical Society is a nonprofit membership organization working to advance physics by fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and global community dedicated to science and society. APS represents more than 50,000 members, including physicists in academia, national laboratories, and industry in the United States and around the world.

DNP Registration Reimbursement Grants Available for the APS Global Physics Summit

DNP is pleased to offer a limited number of registration reimbursement grants to encourage graduate student participation in the annual APS Global Physics Summit. This APS meeting provides an excellent opportunity for students in nuclear physics to present their research, interact with potential employers, and hear about advances in a broad range of physics topics.

If the nominee's application is accepted, the award will cover the early registration fee for students presenting in-person. Students will need to register prior to confirmation of receiving the award.

Village of the Living Dead Kenneth Fulton Memorial Scholarship

Kenneth Fulton was a member of the St. Charles Haunted House since its very beginning in 1985 until his passing at the haunted house in 1998. He volunteered and also brought along with him his kids and brothers to volunteer as well. Ken was a quiet gentle man that loved what the haunted house stood for and who it was all about – the kids. His favorite character to play was Michael Myers. He was tall and quiet and was able to scare the patrons with his eerie silence. He loved the members of the haunted house as his own family. He is greatly missed and would be so proud to be a part of this scholarship.

Stark Community Foundation is one of the area’s major sources of college scholarship support— thanks to the generosity of caring individuals, families and businesses that have created scholarship funds.

The Foundation currently manages more than 100 scholarship funds that support hundreds of deserving students each year from Stark and Carroll counties. In 2025, more than $1,000,000 was awarded to local students to help them achieve their educational dreams.

The Loris and Merle Coe Scholarship Fund

The Loris and Merle Coe Scholarship Fund assists graduating seniors (including home-schooled students) accepted to any two or four-year college or university who are either a Boy Scout or Girl Scout and have earned either an Eagle Scout Award or rank of Life Scout, Gold Award or Silver Award.
