The Mille Lacs Area Community Foundation Grant supports projects in the Mille Lacs Lake Watershed, focusing on environmental stewardship, economic vitality, sustainable farming, and community pride. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, school districts, and local government units within the watershed area. This grant aims to enhance water quality, promote green spaces, and foster community engagement through various initiatives.

Community Development Block Grant – Public Services

This grant opportunity is intended to connect low and moderate-income (LMI) Boston residents to a continuum of education, workforce development, and economic security programs to increase their capacity to obtain career-oriented employment leading to economic stability.

Grant Program Description:

Each year, the City of Boston receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Mayor’s Office of Housing. The funds are primarily used for affordable housing and economic development activities. However, up to 15% of the funds can be used for “public services” related to economic development. As the City’s workforce development agency, the Office of Workforce Development (OWD) manages this portion of the funding on behalf of the Mayor’s Office of Housing. 

The public services component of the CDBG funds provides services for low-income individuals and families with the goal of moving them out of poverty towards economic security. In anticipation of this RFGA, OWD released a set of policy principles. For the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027, OWD will continue to prioritize programs and services that fit within this range of long-term economic stability and growth, including but not limited to: Child Care, Health care, Job Training, Education Programs, Public safety services, Fair Housing Activities, Services for senior citizens, Services for homeless persons, Drug abuse counseling & treatment. 

As a reminder, the policy principles highlight the need to promote economic stability and mobility. These core beliefs shape strong programs:

• Investment in programs that place individuals on a continuum of quality education, training, workforce development, and economic security. This continuum is defined as high school diplomas/HiSET attainment, matriculation into post-secondary education or industry-recognized training programs, placement into jobs with demonstrated career paths, and/or access to income maximization programs that stabilize individuals and families with barriers. 
• A high degree of coordination of wrap-around support services, which address a wide range of individual and family needs. These can include, but are not limited to, financial literacy, ESOL/Adult Basic Education, income and/or benefits maximization, mental health, childcare, transportation, and individual case management. 
• The use of partnerships and collaborations is strongly encouraged to ensure that there are no gaps in a continuum of programs and supportive services to address a wide range of needs.
• The use of work-based training that provides maximum opportunities for participants to gain employment skills that meet employer needs.

Total Amount Available for Grant Program: Approximately $2,100,000.

Grant awards are subject to the availability of appropriated funds. Any oral or written representations, commitments, or assurances made by the Department or any other City representatives are not binding. Recipients should verify funding before beginning performance.

Award Amount per Grant per Organization: OWD anticipates grants ranging in size from $50,000 to $95,000.

The Patricia Ann Emberg Charitable Trust Grant provides funding for educational programs in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. Established in 2014, it focuses on supporting tax-exempt nonprofit and governmental vocational, technical, and trade school programs. The trust aims to enhance workforce development in key industries such as forestry and aircraft maintenance. Applications are accepted year-round, with a deadline of May 5 for consideration in the annual grant meeting.

The Rural Communities Opioid Response Program - Overdose Response aims to enhance healthcare access in rural areas by addressing urgent needs related to substance use disorder services. This initiative focuses on reducing overdose risks through targeted interventions and support, ensuring that rural communities receive necessary assistance. Funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration, this program is crucial for mitigating the opioid crisis in underserved regions, improving health outcomes, and promoting overall community well-being.

The Takoma Foundation offers grants to enhance the social, environmental, and cultural vitality of Takoma Park. These grants, capped at $5,000 for small nonprofits and $1,000 for larger organizations, support initiatives in community connection, youth empowerment, anti-racism, and assistance for vulnerable populations. Eligible organizations must align with the Foundation's mission and primarily serve the Takoma Park area, ensuring equitable opportunities for all community members.

Avnet Cares Grants support nonprofit organizations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico that focus on making a positive impact in their communities. Grants are available for initiatives in STEM, environmental sustainability, and assistance for communities in crisis. Eligible nonprofits must have been operational for at least three years. The program prioritizes organizations that serve areas where Avnet has significant operations, fostering community growth and development.

The SU-CASA Grant is a 3-month program placing local artists in Staten Island senior centers to engage older adults through creative workshops. Each residency concludes with a public event showcasing the participants' work. Artists receive a stipend of $6,000 and a $2,000 budget for materials. Funded by the NYC Council, this initiative fosters collaboration among various city departments and supports artists passionate about teaching and working with seniors.

The Charles H. Dater Foundation Grants support programs benefiting children in Greater Cincinnati. Established in 1985, the Foundation focuses on arts, education, healthcare, social services, and community needs. Grant applications require a pre-application summary for feedback. Funds are typically awarded within two weeks, following a thorough evaluation process. The Foundation encourages leveraging grants for additional funding and values effective use of volunteer resources, ensuring ongoing support for community enrichment.

The Fehr Graham Scholarship provides financial support for students pursuing careers in engineering, landscape architecture, land surveying, geology, hydrogeology, assessment and remediation, and environmental health and safety. Applicants must reside within fifty miles of a Fehr Graham office and intend to enroll in their first year of post-secondary education. This scholarship is renewable for up to three years, contingent upon maintaining a 2.8 GPA. It aims to enhance educational opportunities in the communities served by Fehr Graham.

The goal is to empower youth and their families, creating a supportive environment for healing and resilience against life's challenges. Grants are not available for individuals or organizations that practice discrimination.

The Quality Schools Grant Program, funded by the Alaska Department of Education, aims to enhance student achievement by aligning educational practices with Alaska Standards. Schools may apply for $16 per adjusted Average Daily Membership to support various educational activities, including curriculum development and tutoring. The program prioritizes interventions that positively impact students struggling with core subjects like reading, writing, and mathematics, ensuring that all funded efforts contribute to measurable academic improvements.

The Charlotte Martin Foundation prioritizes funding for rural BIPOC organizations focused on youth programs, emphasizing education, athletics, and cultural expression for ages 6-18. Grants support initiatives that enhance access to diverse experiences, educational opportunities, and sports programs. The foundation is committed to addressing inequities in funding distribution, ensuring resources reach non-dominant communities. Organizations must be based in the Western states and demonstrate a commitment to racial equity and diversity in their leadership and programming.

The BCF Community Grant, offered by the Barry Community Foundation, aims to enhance community welfare by connecting resources with needs. This grant supports nonprofit, educational, and governmental initiatives that foster sustainable change in Barry County. Prioritizing alignment with the Seven Elements of a Healthy Community, these grants address vital areas such as Arts and Culture, Basic Needs, and Health and Wellness. The foundation is committed to making a positive impact through strategic grantmaking.

The Kentucky Conference Mission Grants provide financial support for mission work within the Kentucky Annual Conference and internationally. Grants of up to $2,000 are awarded to churches, institutions, and projects that align with the mission of the United Methodist Church, focusing on outreach in areas such as addiction, food insecurity, and support for refugees. This initiative aims to foster community transformation through various mission efforts across Kentucky.

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation provides grants to organizations focused on improving the lives of children in urban poverty in the U.S., India, and South Africa. They prioritize projects in education, health, and family economic stability. Grants typically do not exceed 25% of a project's budget or 10% of an organization's annual expenses. The foundation seeks to partner with organizations already making an impact, ensuring funding supports impactful social enterprises.

Fertilizer Research Program Request for Proposal

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (Department) and the Fertilizer Research Committee are soliciting grant applications for the distribution of research funds collected by the Department’s Fertilizer Program. 

Funding for fertilizer research is administered by the Department to provide grants addressing the interaction of fertilizers, agricultural amendments, agricultural minerals, or lime products with ground or surface water (ORS 633.465 (3)). Funding for this specific purpose is derived from an inspection fee based on tons of fertilizer, agricultural mineral, agricultural amendment and lime products distributed into Oregon. Grant awards are made annually subject to the availability of fertilizer research funds.

Research Focus

Projects funded by this Request for Proposals must further the understanding of the interaction of fertilizers, agricultural amendments, agricultural minerals, or lime products with the protection of ground or surface water quality in Oregon. Project outcome must be transferable to industry advisors, consultants, and the end users of fertilizer, agricultural amendment, agricultural mineral, or lime products.

The Barney Family Foundation Grant focuses on improving early education and advancing medical research, particularly in cancer and Alzheimer’s. It supports organizations that demonstrate a clear plan to enhance children's life experiences and educational opportunities for those in grades K-8. Grants typically range from $5,000 to $50,000, prioritizing established entities while welcoming startups. Eligible applicants must have 501(c)(3) status, and the Foundation does not fund individual requests or political activities.

The W.H. & Mary Ellen Cobb Charitable Trust Grant Program aims to support local charities in the Texas Panhandle that focus on children's well-being. Established by the Cobbs, who valued children's welfare, this trust provides grants ranging between $10,000 and $20,000 to organizations that meet their eligibility criteria. Applicants must be geographically located within the Texas Panhandle and primarily serve children, ensuring that the funds directly benefit young individuals in need.

Caring For Denver Grants focuses on community-centered solutions addressing mental health and substance misuse in Denver. The initiative prioritizes equitable access to culturally relevant care, emphasizing the importance of community-based organizations. By supporting peer specialists and care navigation, the foundation aims to improve access and outcomes for marginalized populations. Grant applicants must be nonprofit organizations or government entities serving Denver residents. This funding opportunity seeks to uplift voices affected by historical trauma and promote innovative approaches to mental health care.

The Minnesota Youth at Work Competitive Grant supports workforce development for economically disadvantaged youth aged 14-24. Administered by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), it prioritizes programs that provide career education, serve under-represented communities, and assist youth with disabilities. Applicants can request up to $850,000 annually, with potential for continued funding based on performance in the first year.

Healthy Living in Rural Delaware: Diabetes Wellness Program

Overview

The State of Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Public Health, seeks professional services to provide up to 500 rural Delaware residents with diabetes will receive continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices, when not otherwise covered by insurance, to support real-time monitoring and timely adjustments in health behaviors and medication use.

The Region Grants Open Grant Round: Community Vitality, supported by Land O'Lakes Foundation, aims to enhance the vibrancy of dairy communities in the East and West Regions. With a total investment of $500,000 annually, grants ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 are available for organizations focused on rural development, education, and community resources. Eligible applicants must have a 501c3 status and serve specific geographic areas, ensuring support reaches those in need.

The Ashtabula Foundation offers grants up to $3,000 for Youth Enrichment programs aimed at supporting youth aged 6-18 in Ashtabula County. These grants focus on initiatives that foster personal development, leadership, and educational growth. Eligible organizations must have a 501(C)(3) status and serve the local community, with funding decisions made promptly by a review committee. This initiative aims to enhance youth skills and well-being through various programs.

The Alberta Blue Cross Built Together Grants support Albertans in creating spaces for active living, such as outdoor gyms, skate parks, and playgrounds. This initiative emphasizes community accessibility and promotes health and wellness, particularly for children. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations and community groups focused on enhancing public spaces. The program aims for equitable distribution of funding across diverse communities, ensuring all Albertans have opportunities to engage in active lifestyles.

Helpers Community Grants

Helpers Community cares deeply about nonprofits that enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Helpers Community is dedicated to supporting nonprofit agencies and individuals that help those who provide residential care, recreation, and job training programs to Adults with developmental disabilities. Helpers Community grants fund 501(c)(3) organizations that serve individuals with developmental disabilities, with priority given to those in the state of California.

Organizations that qualify through their commitment to serve Adults with developmental disabilities can apply for grants for infrastructure and materials for specific programs or projects, including facility improvement projects, but not for general operating support and/or salaries.

The amount of funding requested, keeping in mind our typical grant awards range from $15,000 to $25,000, and if any other potential funders have been approached or have committed to fund a portion of this infrastructure need.
