In addition to providing advanced medical care, research and medical education, UChicago Medicine collaborates with organizations that are committed to making a difference in their communities.

We believe partnering with like-minded organizations that share our vision and values is one way to work collaboratively to positively impact change in our community. As part of this commitment, UChicago Medicine and UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital offer community grant and the sponsorship opportunities. These opportunities extend financial support to local not-for-profit, community-based organizations to provide health-related services and programming for at-risk and underserved populations.

Community Benefit Grants and Sponsorships in Chicago

UChicago Medicine offers community benefit grants and sponsorships to partnering community organizations based within the 12 zip codes of our South Side service area.

UChicago Medicine’s community benefit grants focus on one or more of our health priority areas — as outlined in our Community Health Needs Assessment and Strategic Implementation Plan — to ensure that each priority area receives attention.

UCM Community Benefit Grants – Community Health

The University of Chicago Medicine (UCM) Urban Health Initiative is pleased to announce a grant opportunity for community-based organizations. The purpose of this funding is to improve the health and well-being of residents on Chicago’s South Side, as outlined in the University of Chicago Medical Center Strategic Implementation Plan.

In recognition of the need for additional streams of funding available to South Side social service organizations, these grants aim to provide critical support for individuals affected by heart disease and/or diabetes. Please review the RFP for more details.

The High Mountain Hay Fever Children’s Health Fund Grant, established by the Wet Mountain Valley Community Foundation, aims to enhance children's health in Custer County. This grant focuses on addressing physical, emotional, social, and educational needs for children up to 18 years old. Nonprofit organizations and governmental programs in Custer County are eligible to apply, with a preference for collaboration and evidence-based programs. It does not provide funding to individuals.

The County of Santa Clara's Agricultural Resilience Incentive (ARI) Grant Program provides up to $30,000 in funding to farmers and ranchers for practices that enhance soil health and promote climate resilience. Established in 2019, this program aims to support sustainable agricultural practices while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Applications are currently being accepted, with a deadline of May 31st. This initiative not only aids in environmental conservation but also bolsters the local agricultural community.

The La Vallée des Singes Conservation Research Grant supports vital research aimed at conserving endangered primate species. Funded by the Primate Conservation Trust, this grant prioritizes studies focusing on lesser-known species and their geographical distribution. With a goal of positively impacting primate conservation efforts globally, it encourages applications from researchers dedicated to understanding primate taxonomy and conservation strategies. The grant is open to qualified individuals committed to preserving these threatened species in their natural habitats.

The First Financial Foundation, established in 2017, aims to enhance local communities through targeted grants. With a focus on neighborhood development, workforce education, and cultural initiatives, the foundation supports organizations creating affordable housing, enhancing financial literacy, and promoting the arts. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving specific counties and must align with the foundation's mission. The foundation seeks to foster community growth and diversity while ensuring impactful contributions.

The AK Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) offers financial assistance and conservation planning to agricultural producers in Alaska. This program aims to implement conservation practices that enhance water quality, soil health, and wildlife habitats, while also benefiting agricultural operations. Eligible participants include socially disadvantaged and veteran farmers, who may receive higher payment rates. Applications are accepted until January 15, 2026, encouraging participation from historically underserved producers in implementing vital conservation efforts.

The Grand Haven Offshore Challenge Scholarship, offered by the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, supports students pursuing studies in natural resources, including fisheries and wildlife. This scholarship is available for applicants attending any public or private college or university. The fund was established to honor community contributions towards environmental preservation and is awarded based on academic merit and financial need. Apply once for all scholarships you may qualify for to streamline your application process.

The ASP Conservation Small Grants program is dedicated to supporting primate conservation efforts. It invites proposals for conservation research or related projects, including education, with awards up to $3500. This initiative encourages ASP members, especially those in habitat countries, to submit impactful projects that contribute to broader conservation goals. The program emphasizes funding for local salaries, research supplies, and educational materials, ensuring the sustainability of primate conservation efforts.

The Youth Endowment Fund Grant, managed by the East Tennessee Foundation, supports innovative solutions to challenges faced by youth within a 25-county service area. Grants of up to $20,000 are available for projects focusing on early childhood education, health drivers, and the prevention of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Eligible organizations must demonstrate a commitment to serving youth and adhere to non-discrimination policies. This initiative aims to foster stronger, healthier communities through impactful youth programming.

The Mazamas is committed to exploring and preserving mountain environments in the Pacific Northwest through research grants. These grants support nonprofit research that aligns with the Mazamas’ mission, encouraging proposals from graduate and undergraduate students. Successful applicants often conduct field studies that enhance understanding of the region's natural features. Notably, the Mazamas also welcome innovative research ideas that may fall outside traditional grant guidelines, promoting a diverse range of scientific inquiry.

The Community Partners Grant Program, led by the Humana Foundation, aims to enhance community health by addressing social barriers and promoting equitable health outcomes. With a focus on Kentucky, Florida, Louisiana, and Texas, the program fosters connections through emotional support and nutritional education. It also provides disaster relief funding to ensure long-term recovery and preparedness. By collaborating with local organizations, this initiative helps individuals access essential services and resources, thereby improving their overall well-being.

The Ogden Codman Trust Grant provides crucial financial support to organizations serving residents of Lincoln, Massachusetts. It focuses on assisting individuals in need with food, shelter, medical assistance, and educational grants. The Trust encourages community engagement by requiring matching funds for grants, fostering a sense of collaboration and awareness of local programs. Organizations must be 501(c)(3) qualified and cannot be private foundations, ensuring that aid reaches those who truly need it.

Texas Department of Agriculture

The Texas Legislature established the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) in 1907. The agency's key objectives are to promote production agriculture, consumer protection, economic development and healthy living. The agriculture commissioner oversees the agency and is elected every four years. The current commissioner, Sid Miller, was first elected in 2014 and began his third term serving Texas agriculture in January 2023.

TDA is a diversified state agency that provides value-added services through our regulatory and marketing and initiatives.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for Rural Texas

The primary objective of the Community Development Block Grant program is to develop viable communities by providing decent housing and suitable living environments, and to expand economic opportunities principally for persons of low- to moderate-income.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for Rural Texas includes: Community Development Fund; Downtown Revitalization Program; Colonia Fund - Construction; Colonia Economically Distressed Areas Program; State Urgent Need (SUN) Fund.

Colonia Funds

TxCDBG Colonia funds are available to eligible county applicants for projects in severely distressed unincorporated areas which meet the definition as a colonia:

• any identifiable unincorporated community within 150 miles of the United States-Mexico border, not including any standard metropolitan statistical area with a population exceeding 1,000,000;
• the community is determined to be a colonia on the basis of criteria including lack of potable water supply, lack of adequate sewage systems, and lack of decent, safe, and sanitary housing;
• the community was in existence as a colonia before the enactment of the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act (November 28, 1990).

The Colonia Fund - Construction (CFC) provides eligible applicants with grants to fund water and wastewater improvements, housing rehabilitation for low- to moderate-income households, the payment of assessments levied against properties owned and occupied by persons of low and moderate income to recover the capital cost for a public improvement and other improvements including street paving and drainage

About Us

The Florida Department of Health (DOH) was established by the Florida Legislature in 1996, however public health has its roots in Florida dating back to 1888 with the creation of the Florida State Board of Health.

In 2007, the first-ever State Surgeon General was established to spearhead the efforts of DOH, thereby designating a health officer to oversee all matters of public health. The Surgeon General’s role is to be the state’s leading advocate for wellness and disease prevention.

The State Surgeon General, who serves as the state health officer and is directly appointed by Florida’s Governor, and confirmed by the Florida Senate.

James and Esther King Biomedical Research Program

The biomedical research program works to improve the health of Floridians by researching better prevention, diagnoses, treatments, and cures for cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and pulmonary disease.

Program goals

• Improve the health of Floridians by researching better prevention, diagnoses, treatments, and cures for cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and pulmonary disease.
• Expand the foundation of biomedical knowledge relating to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of diseases related to tobacco use, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and pulmonary disease.
• Improve the quality of the state’s academic health centers by bringing the advances of biomedical research into the training of physicians and other health care providers.
• Increase the state’s per capita funding for research by undertaking new initiatives in public health and biomedical research that will attract additional funding from outside the state.
• Stimulate economic activity in the state in areas related to biomedical research, such as the research and production of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices.

The Hillman Foundation, established in 1951, aims to enhance the quality of life in Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania. It focuses on strategic grantmaking for economic development, health, education, human services, the arts, and the environment. The Foundation prioritizes initiatives that foster community growth, support arts and culture, and address social determinants of health. It primarily funds tax-exempt organizations serving the ten counties of southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Kroger Foundation is dedicated to uplifting communities through significant charitable contributions, having donated over $1.9 billion in the past six years. Their focus on combating hunger through the Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative exemplifies their commitment to social impact. Annually, they provide over $300 million to nonprofit organizations aligned with their mission, promoting health, education, and disaster relief while fostering diversity and inclusion. This initiative reflects Kroger's belief that strong communities are a shared responsibility.

Eastern Carolina Community Foundation

Eastern Carolina Community Foundation, founded in 2006, is the newest community foundation in South Carolina. We have a permanent endowment to meet the changing needs of the Pee Dee.

Eastern Carolina Community Foundation improves the quality of life in our area of South Carolina through inspired philanthropy and innovative community programs. We serve Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marion, Marlboro, and Williamsburg Counties.

Community Impact Grants

Grantmaking at Eastern Carolina Community Foundation promotes partnerships with communities – its nonprofits, workers, families, and leaders – to cultivate thriving communities.

An annual community impact grant cycle exists to advance the missions of local nonprofits through a competitive grant process. Relying on a trust-based philanthropy model, ECCF intentionally focuses on receiving applications to support capacity building and operational support to assist nonprofit organizations in strengthening operations and infrastructure, enhancing organizational stability, planning for strategic growth, and/or making critical improvements to their facilities.

Proposals to be considered might include (but are not limited to):

The Waste Management Charitable Contributions Program supports initiatives that enhance environmental stewardship, sustainability education, and community vitality. With a commitment to civic pride and economic development, the program prioritizes organizations that address local needs and promote sustainable practices. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations that focus on public purposes, while ineligible requests include funding for operating costs and individual fundraising events. This initiative fosters a collaborative approach to community betterment.

The Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive Grants Fund supports innovative waste management projects in Nebraska. By funding recycling systems, market development for recyclable materials, and composting initiatives, it aims to enhance sustainability and reduce waste. This program also oversees the Scrap Tire Management Grant, promoting environmentally sound practices. With a focus on integrated solutions, these grants empower communities to implement effective waste reduction strategies and foster a circular economy.

The SPC Cares Foundation

The SPC Cares Foundation was established in 2024 as a way for SPC Credit Union to strategically support four key development issues identified within our community: Hunger, Housing, Employment, & Education. The Foundation supports our local communities through monetary donations, in-kind donation drives, and volunteerism.

Community Impact Fund

Community Impact funds are available to support nonprofit organizations that are strengthening and improving communities where SPC Members live, work, or attend school. Preference is given to organizations that address our four funding areas (hunger, housing, employment, & education). Education-related projects or initiatives must promote finance, employment, workforce readiness, or leadership.

Applications for funding are reviewed quarterly by the SPC Cares Foundation Advisory Board.

The Schrafft Charitable Trust focuses on the growth of underserved youth (ages 6-21) through neighborhood-based education and economic independence programs in Boston and New Bedford. Eligible nonprofits can apply for Program or General Operating Grants, emphasizing community representation and impactful youth development initiatives. Returning grantees from the past three years may submit a full proposal directly. The Trust does not fund capital expenditures or scholarships, ensuring resources are directed towards meaningful educational opportunities.

Wake County Solid Waste Management offers Waste Prevention Grants to schools, nonprofits, and businesses aiming to reduce landfill waste. Since 2004, grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 have supported innovative projects such as recycling, composting, and repair events. Eligible applicants must operate in Wake County and complete projects within 12 months, with possible extensions. This program emphasizes measurable impacts and educational strategies, excluding projects solely focused on awareness.

The Equipment Grants program, managed by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, supports the purchase of solid waste management equipment valued between $5,000 and $50,000. Eligible applicants include government units and recognized organizations in Oklahoma. This funding is intended for one-time purchases, with a requirement for storage and maintenance plans in applications. Ineligible items include buildings and vehicles, ensuring a focused investment in necessary equipment.

The Share the Bounty Grant, offered by The Andersons Inc Charitable Foundation, aims to enhance the quality of life in communities through support for agriculture, social services, civic engagement, education, arts, and health initiatives. By investing in these key areas, The Andersons seeks to foster environments where individuals and families can thrive, ensuring a sustainable and vibrant future for all residents in the regions they serve.

The Flowers for Dreams Foundation Grant prioritizes organizations committed to mental health and community care initiatives for vulnerable populations. With a mission to fund local charities, the foundation has donated over $1.5 million to date. Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000, with applications accepted year-round. In 2025, the foundation emphasizes support for mental health services, ensuring that funds are used for impactful community care. Organizations must have a 501(c)(3) status and operate within the designated service area.
