Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation
The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation goes beyond food aid to create lasting change. Through innovative programs, strategic partnerships and volunteer action, Stop Hunger tackles the root causes of food insecurity.
In 2025, Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation and the Hunger Center awarded grants to 131 programs representing 118 communities in 37 states plus the District of Columbia. Collectively, these programs provided an estimated 22,000 backpacks full of shelf-stable food items for students to take home for the weekend or holidays when school meals are not served.
Since 2006, the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation has been a driving force behind weekend and holiday hunger relief for students across the U.S. Through support of food backpack programs, the Foundation partners with local food banks and schools to discreetly provide K-12 students with backpacks filled with nutritious, shelf-stable meals. These backpacks are distributed in safe, familiar settings – typically on the last school day before a weekend or school break – ensuring that all children who rely on free or reduced-price school meals don’t go hungry when school is out.
K-12 Backpack Grant
The K-12 Backpack Grant is an initiative launched by the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation and administered in partnership with the Congressional Hunger Center to support community backpack programs. Grants of $1,000 will be issued to community organizations with established backpack feeding programs that provide students with shelf-stable, nutritious meals when school is out of session.
New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR)
New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) is the State’s affordable housing agency, with a mission to build, preserve, and protect affordable housing and increase homeownership throughout New York State. HCR develops, preserves and protects affordable housing and invests in economically vibrant communities. We work with many private, public and nonprofit partners to create safe, healthy and affordable housing opportunities for all New Yorkers.
HCR is charged with carrying out Governor Hochul’s new $25 billion, five-year, comprehensive housing plan to increase housing supply by creating or preserving 100,000 affordable homes across New York including 10,000 with support services for vulnerable populations, plus the electrification of an additional 50,000 homes.
Access to Home for Medicaid Members
The Access to Home for Medicaid Members program was developed in partnership with the New York State Department of Health (DOH). This program provides financial assistance to make dwelling units accessible for low- and moderate-income persons receiving Medicaid and living with a disability. Assistance with the cost of adapting homes to meet the needs of those with disabilities will enable individuals to live in their residences safely and comfortably, instead of residing in an institutional setting. The Access to Home for Medicaid Members program has a secondary long-term goal of lowering health care costs.
Funding may be used to provide financial assistance to make accessibility modifications, to the primary residences of low- and moderate-income individuals living with disabilities. Activities reimbursable by grant funds may only include accessibility modifications designed to address the needs of the person living with a disability. Examples of modifications may include wheelchair ramps and lifts, handrails, doorway widening, and roll-in showers. Review the Access to Home for Medicaid Members Program Manual for more information related to eligible activities.

A better world, built with better teamwork
We bring Atlassian's funding, tools and teamwork expertise to help nonprofits drive greater impact.
Our mission
Atlassian's mission is to unleash the potential of every team. The Atlassian Foundation extends that mission to teams solving the world's hardest problems.
Atlassian Foundation – Open Call for Proposals
The Atlassian Foundation is deploying US$8 million over the next two years to help disadvantaged learners thrive in the AI era. If you're driving collective action in this space, we want to hear from you.
Reshaping education for the AI era will take teamwork
The Atlassian Foundation focuses on education because it's the most empowering force in the world – it's the key to breaking cycles of poverty and disadvantage.
But that key is slipping out of reach for far too many. UNESCO estimates that more than 250 million children are out of school. And for those in the classroom, learning isn't guaranteed: 57% of children worldwide (nearly one billion) lack the basic skills they need for the era they're growing up in. AI can expand access and accelerate learning. It can also widen inequality where it lands unevenly.
No single organisation can tackle a challenge this complex. That's why the Atlassian Foundation is backing collective action: coordinated efforts by multiple players to solve shared problems at scale. Atlassian's mission is to unleash the potential of every team, so we're uniquely positioned to power these efforts. We've spent 20+ years learning what makes teams work well together, and we're offering that expertise – plus our funding, tools and hands-on support – to help collective action initiatives drive greater impact.
We believe a better world is built with better teamwork, and collective action is teamwork at its most ambitious. Together, we want to shape a future where emerging technology closes gaps for learners the current system leaves behind, rather than widening them.
About this open call
In this open call, we're seeking partnerships with collective action initiatives that are working to improve education for disadvantaged learners in the AI era.
What our partners will receive
Each partnership will include:
