Artist as Entrepreneur Program

An intensive professional development program for artists of all disciplines, ranging from 1 to 3.5 days.

The NYSCA/NYFA Artist as Entrepreneur Program is an intensive professional development opportunity that serves artists and creatives of all disciplines (including visual, literary, and performing arts, among others). This 3.5 day program delves into the fundamental principles of sustainability in the arts, empowering artists with the tools to imagine and pursue success as they define it.

Whether you’re looking for a shift in thinking, strategies for your arts/creative business, or peer networks, this program provides dynamic planning tools for building a blueprint for your creative practice or arts project.

This program is made possible through New York State Council on the Arts, State & Local Partnerships with the support of the Governor’s Office and the New York State Legislature.

NYSCA/NYFA Artist as Entrepreneur Program, Presented by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes

Artists of all disciplines based in Cattaraugus, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Tioga Counties in New York State are encouraged to apply to participate in this FREE entrepreneurial program to be presented in Corning, NY by Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes from November 12-15, 2026.

The Fusion City University Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc., provides financial assistance to high school seniors and adult learners in Upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania. Eligible candidates must complete 50 hours of community service at a Christian Church organization. This scholarship aims to remove barriers to education and supports those in need of funding to pursue college or vocational training.

The JGS Fellowship for Photography offers a $7,000 cash grant to photography artists residing in New York State, excluding New York City. This competitive fellowship supports five artists engaged in traditional and experimental photography. Funded by The Joy of Giving Something, the fellowship aims to assist artists in creating new works and exhibitions. Eligible applicants must be at least 25 years old and have lived in a qualifying region of New York State for at least 12 months.

The Triangle Fund Grant supports programs in Steuben, Chemung, and Schuyler counties, aimed at fostering relationships among families, schools, and communities to benefit disadvantaged youth. Applicants must have a GPA of 80 or above and preference is given to those studying at CCC or Elmira College, and those attending Arnot Ogden Medical Center. It prioritizes community needs, including education, arts, and environmental protection. The foundation emphasizes equity, collaboration, and innovative solutions while fostering diverse voices in program development. Grants are aimed at strengthening organizations' capacity to address challenges and enhance community wellness. Applicants are encouraged to align proposals with these values for a holistic impact.

The CFECFL Community Grant Program offers competitive grants to nonprofit organizations serving Chemung and Southeastern Steuben counties. Grants support diverse areas including the arts, education, environment, and human services. Eligible organizations must be locally based, IRS 501(c)(3) classified, and demonstrate successful prior grant completion. The program focuses on direct service, capital projects, and organizational development, providing unrestricted funding to enhance nonprofit missions and community impact.

Chesapeake Watershed Investments for Landscape Defense (WILD) Program

The Chesapeake Watershed Investments for Landscape Defense (WILD) Grants Program delivered in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service supports efforts to improve the condition and connectivity of habitats for at risk and federally listed species.

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) is committed to operating in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Executive Orders. The ability and extent to which NFWF is able to make awards is contingent upon receipt of funds from federal agencies and/or other funding partners. Final funding decisions will be made based on the applications received and the level and timing of funding received by NFWF.
