Northern New York Community Foundation
Since 1929, the Northern New York Community Foundation has invested in improving and enriching the quality of life for all in communities across Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.
Through partnerships with businesses and organizations, charitable foundations, and generous families and individual donors, the Community Foundation awards grants and scholarships from an endowment and collection of funds that benefit the region. Its commitment to donors helps individuals achieve their charitable objectives now and for generations to come by preserving and honoring legacies of community philanthropy while inspiring others.
Community Fund Grant Program
This application serves several place-based Community Funds, including the Clifton-Fine Community Fund, George R. Davis Fund for Lowville, the Six Town Community Fund (Southern Jefferson County), and projects in Antwerp, Cape Vincent, the City of Watertown, Clayton, and Gouverneur.
Northern New York Community Foundation

The Nonprofit Capacity Building Initiative is a Northern New York Community Foundation effort to help strengthen the effectiveness of local nonprofit organizations. Grants up to $5,000 may be awarded to nonprofits seeking outside expertise and resources to develop and grow their internal structure, practices and operations.

Scholarship Overview
Since 1980, the Northern New York Community Foundation has awarded more than $28 million in scholarships to students from Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties.
Jefferson-Can Community Scholars Program
The Northern New York Community Foundation administers the Jefferson-Can Community Scholars Program in partnership with the Jefferson Community College Foundation.
Merit award minimum is $1,500 split between fall and spring semesters. The Northern New York Community Foundation will mail scholarship packets to students who qualify for the Jefferson-Can Community Scholars program. Class ranking is determined by the high school transcript applicants submit at the time of application for admission to JCC.
