However, they do not fund individuals, religious organizations, or private K-12 schools, ensuring their contributions make a meaningful impact in the community.

The Proposition 68 Fish and Wildlife Improvement Grant aims to enhance the resilience of communities against climate change impacts while improving fish and wildlife habitats. Funded by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, these grants support projects that protect coastal and rural economies, promote agricultural viability, and develop recreational opportunities. Key objectives include improving water retention and landscape resilience, ensuring the sustainability of vital ecosystems across California.

The Homelessness Solutions Program (HSP) administered by Maryland's Department of Housing and Community Development aims to prevent and end homelessness by providing over $15 million annually to local Continuums of Care. The Fund prioritizes capital projects and evaluates the financial stability and operational issues of requesting organizations.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program provides federal funding to non-entitlement cities and counties to improve infrastructure, support community facilities, and strengthen local economies in ways that primarily help low-to-moderate income people while addressing local health and safety concerns. Project awards are available in several categories for a wide range of community development initiatives.

The Water/Wastewater category provides funding for communities to make improvements to drinking water and wastewater systems, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the US Department of Agriculture, Rural Development. Proposals can be obtained from the main funding partner at the time a gap in financing is identified. The Missouri Water and Wastewater Review Committee will help determine financing structures available among the participating agencies. If a need for CDBG funding is identified, the community will be invited to make full application.

Grants may be used for construction that is related to water treatment and distribution, and sewer treatment and collection for publicly owned systems. Operation and maintenance activities and not eligible.

The New Mexico Ornithological Society (NMOS) offers two annual research grants, including the $1000 Ryan Beaulieu Research Grant, which honors Ryan Beaulieu and supports non-collection bird research. Both grants require recipients to present their findings at an NMOS Meeting or submit an article to the NMOS Bulletin, with preference given to student applicants.

Only Enterprise Mobility team members and their spouses or domestic partners who volunteer with a nonprofit can apply for funding. Thriving Texas Families

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), the System Agency, is accepting Applications for Small Service Providers in the Thriving Texas Families (TTF) program.

The purpose of this program is to promote childbirth and pregnancy and support families by operating a statewide support network that provides community outreach, consultation, and care coordination for women with an unexpected pregnancy, in accordance with Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 54.

The total amount of state funding available for the Thriving Texas Families Small Service Providers grant program is $25,000,000 for the entire Project Period. It is the System Agency's intention to make multiple awards to Applicants that successfully demonstrate the ability to promote childbirth and pregnancy and support families by providing community outreach, consultation, and care coordination for women with an unexpected pregnancy.

Applicants are strongly cautioned to only apply for the amount of grant funding they can responsibly expend during the Project Period to avoid lapsed funding at the end of the grant term. Successful Applications may not be funded to the full extent of Applicant’s requested Budgets in order to ensure grant funds are available for the broadest possible array of communities and programs.

The Center for Diabetes & Metabolic Diseases Pilot & Feasibility Grant offers funding up to $50,000 for innovative research projects aimed at diabetes and metabolic diseases. This program encourages early-career physician-scientists and established investigators to explore new ideas that diverge from their current research. With an annual grant distribution of approximately $2 million, the fund prioritizes organizations that enhance self-sufficiency and address emergency needs, ensuring vulnerable populations receive the support they require.

The Aaron Straus and Lillie Straus Foundation focuses on enhancing opportunities for Baltimore families through education, health services, and community engagement. Since its establishment in 1926, it has prioritized support for Jewish communities, immigration advocacy, and social innovation. The foundation aims to connect families to resources that foster resilience and growth, ensuring they can thrive in a supportive environment. By investing in local initiatives and emerging leaders, the foundation seeks to create lasting impact in the Baltimore region.

The State of South Carolina is an entitlement state, as designated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development HUD, and receives federal formula funding to address housing and community development needs statewide. 

The Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program addresses the need for emergency shelter by funding shelters who provide services outlined by HUD to those who are currently homeless. The State Office of Economic Opportunity works closely with all four regional CoCs to identify needs and direct funds for emergency shelter services. 

The ESG program is a competitive grant issued each year to community-based shelters and traditional housing facilities, non-profit organizations that provide housing and counseling assistance to the state's homeless population and to those at-risk of becoming homeless.

The Global Forest Watch Small Grants Fund supports civil society organizations in utilizing GFW tools to combat illegal deforestation. With grants ranging from $10,000 to $40,000 USD, projects may focus on advocacy, forest monitoring, journalism, capacity building, and policy influence. Eligible organizations must be non-profits with a budget over $50,000 and a demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources. This initiative aims to empower local communities and enhance forest protection efforts across various regions.

The Mayer and Morris Kaplan Foundation Environment Grant aims to support initiatives that combat climate change, prioritizing efforts to reduce fossil fuel consumption and enhance climate education for young adults. The foundation emphasizes innovative solutions and partnerships to address both immediate and long-term environmental challenges. Areas of focus include climate and clean energy policy, as well as providing scientifically accurate climate change education. By leveraging data and research, the foundation seeks to empower organizations dedicated to creating impactful change.

The Ron Goellner Conservation Fund Award, administered by the Cryptobranchid Interest Group, offers grants up to $2,000 for projects focused on the conservation of giant salamanders. This initiative supports innovative research, field conservation, and educational initiatives that aim to protect these species and their habitats. Open to all applicants, the fund prioritizes projects that demonstrate broad conservation impact and partnerships. Applications are automatically considered for two separate grants of up to $1,000 each.

The Fair Housing Initiatives Program (FHIP), established by Congress in 1988, aims to fund organizations to combat discriminatory housing practices. The Education and Outreach Initiative (EOI) educates stakeholders about their rights under fair housing laws. Key components include the National Media Campaign, which promotes fair housing awareness nationally, and local programs that support community-based outreach. HUD oversees the process, ensuring compliance and monitoring of funded initiatives to enhance fair housing practices.

The Operating Support Grant from the Alaska State Council on the Arts offers funding for nonprofit arts organizations in Alaska. This grant supports ongoing artistic and administrative functions, including salaries, travel, and production costs. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) entities with a minimum annual budget of $50,000 and demonstrate a commitment to arts programming. Grant applications are limited to one per fiscal year, promoting sustainability and cultural heritage within the Alaska arts community.
