Their focus on combating hunger through the Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative exemplifies their commitment to social impact. Annually, they provide over $300 million to nonprofit organizations aligned with their mission, promoting health, education, and disaster relief while fostering diversity and inclusion. This initiative reflects Kroger's belief that strong communities are a shared responsibility.

The Houston Endowment Grant aims to enhance community vibrancy and equity in Greater Houston. Focused on public education, civic engagement, and the arts, it seeks to empower residents through access to resources and information. The grant prioritizes initiatives that foster community connectivity and support diverse cultural organizations, ensuring that all residents can thrive. By addressing emerging opportunities and challenges, the Houston Endowment is dedicated to fostering a robust and inclusive community for all.

Foundations of East Chicago offers General Operating Grants to support local nonprofits and agencies improving community quality of life. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)3 entities based in East Chicago, with funding for operational expenses from January 1 to August 31, 2026. The grant covers daily costs such as utilities, office supplies, and maintenance, ensuring community-focused initiatives are supported while adhering to strict eligibility criteria.

The C.H. Robinson Foundation's Twin Cities Grants Program, established in 2005, focuses on enhancing local communities through grants that support basic needs such as hunger, shelter, education, and workforce development. Organizations eligible for funding must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entities and serve the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The program prioritizes initiatives that address food insecurity, provide housing solutions, and improve educational opportunities, ultimately aiming to foster a stronger, more resilient community.

The Mignon Sherwood Delano Foundation aims to provide impactful annual contributions to address unmet financial needs in humanitarian, educational, cultural, and environmental sectors within Allegan County. The Foundation prioritizes support for medical needs, educational programs, arts advancement, and initiatives for natural beauty preservation. Organizations demonstrating financial need in these areas are encouraged to apply, while operating expenses, particularly wages, are generally not funded, ensuring that contributions directly support mission-driven projects.

The Hyde Family Foundations Grant supports nonprofits in Memphis with a focus on education, community development, arts, and civic engagement. Established in 1961, the foundation has grown to over $175 million in assets, granting about $20 million annually. Organizations can apply for funding three times a year, with specific eligibility criteria. The foundation aims to empower initiatives that foster equity, improve quality of life, and enhance the community's cultural landscape, ensuring a thriving environment for all residents.

The Donald C. and Laura M. Harrison Family Foundation, established in 2006, aims to enhance educational opportunities for underprivileged students in the Greater Cincinnati area. With a focus on innovative programs and scholarships, the foundation supports initiatives in primary, secondary, and adult education. Grants range from $5,000 to $15,000 annually, promoting sustainability and collaboration with other donors. Eligible applicants must be IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organizations, prioritizing local community impact.

The Andrew Jergens Foundation Grant, administered by the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, focuses on enhancing the health, education, cultural experiences, and social welfare of children in the Greater Cincinnati area. With a commitment to supporting programs for children through high school, the foundation seeks to foster vibrant communities by connecting with nonprofits dedicated to improving quality of life. The foundation emphasizes the importance of generous contributions to create lasting change in the region.

Guidelines

The Banks Family Foundation provides grants to organizations and agencies located in Northern Alameda Country. The Foundation is interested in providing funding for programs that directly serve the health, education and welfare of youth.

Grants may range from a few hundred dollars up to $15,000. In unique circumstances, we would consider a more significant grant for a program having a major impact in our areas of interest.

The Banks Family Foundation accepts grant applications on a continuous basis. Grant disbursements are made annually. The applications must be consistent with the mission and guidelines established by the Trustees. The Trustees appreciate applications that are concise and accurate.

Grant disbursements are scheduled to be made annually in December. Applications should be received by November 1 by U.S. mail.

The BCF Community Grant offers funding opportunities for organizations that support the growth of children, youth, and families in Benton County. With a cap of $10,000, grants can be requested for programs in arts, human services, education, and community betterment. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations and others serving the county. However, funding is not available for discriminatory practices or private individuals. This initiative aims to enhance community welfare and development.

Background

Berrien Community Foundation wants to give creative teachers and other school staff a hand! We know that many educators would like to do extra projects but funding can stand in the way. That's why we started Golden Acorn Classroom Mini Grants, which are available for any school or classroom in Berrien County.

The mini grant is for requests up to $500 for a specific program or project. 

The Community Foundation for Monterey County provides Community Impact Grants to support programs aimed at improving the lives of children, youth, and underserved populations. With an average grant award of $25,000, these grants focus on early childhood education, academic support, and health services. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and public agencies in Monterey County. The foundation values innovative, collaborative proposals that demonstrate measurable impact and sustainability.

The Dana Brown Charitable Trust Grant supports organizations in the St. Louis area that aid financially disadvantaged children, focusing on health, education, and welfare. It encourages programs that expand children's knowledge of nature and wild animals. The Trust favors collaborative, high-impact projects and prioritizes immediate needs over long-term funding. Notably, individual grants are not awarded directly to individuals, and only one Letter of Intent is permitted per year.

The Idaho Future Fund Grant is designed to bridge educational gaps for preschool to 12th grade students in Idaho. Established by an anonymous couple, it focuses on enhancing educational programs, supporting preschool access, charter schools, public schools, and supplemental educational initiatives. Grants typically range from $10,000 to $20,000, and applicants must possess 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be public educational institutions in Idaho.

The Lake Placid Education Foundation Grant supports various educational initiatives in the Adirondack region of New York. With grants ranging from $500 to $50,000, it assists schools, libraries, and cultural organizations in enhancing educational opportunities. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) charities and governmental units. However, grants are not available for land acquisition or endowment purposes. This foundation encourages partnerships to foster innovative educational projects.

The Narragansett Foundation Grant aims to support charitable, educational, and scientific endeavors, focusing on public charities in Buxton, Maine. It funds start-up expenses, new projects, and general operating support. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status and government entities using funds for public purposes. The foundation prioritizes local needs but may extend support throughout Maine and beyond as necessary.

The Community Investment Fund by Freeport-McMoRan aims to enhance community resilience and well-being in various regions, including Climax (CO), Globe-Miami (AZ), and Henderson (CO). Prioritizing education, economic opportunity, and leadership capacity, this fund supports projects over $10,000 that directly benefit local communities. Eligible organizations must have 501c-3 status or equivalent. The initiative fosters transformative change through collaborative partnerships and strategic investments, addressing essential community needs and promoting sustainability.

The Community Investment Fund in Greenlee County, AZ, is dedicated to fostering long-term community resilience through strategic collaborations. With a focus on education, economic opportunity, and capacity building, the fund supports initiatives that empower individuals and organizations to thrive. Projects must exceed $10,000 and align with the foundation's commitment to transformative change, ensuring that funding directly benefits local communities, enhancing their overall well-being and capacity to navigate economic challenges.

Community Investment Fund - Grant County (NM)

Community Investment Funds (CIFs) have been established in communities near our operations in Colorado, New Mexico and southeastern Arizona. The CIFs engage community leaders in cultivating and assessing community projects that address identified community priorities (developed at Community Partnership Panels), and allow them to allocate Freeport-McMoRan Foundation funds to programs and projects that encourage a strong focus on local capacity-building, community development and sustainability.

Each CIF is governed by a committee of 7 to 10 community representatives as well as two company representatives. The committee reviews all proposals and determines which projects best address the community’s priorities.

Applications must align with one of the established Community Priorities and Focus Area for your community. In addition, they must deliver one of the identified Community Outcomes for your community. 

Focus Areas

Education and Workforce Development:

The following are examples of the types of programs we seek in support of the Education & Workforce Development priority and goals.

• PK-12:
  • Professional development programs for teachers and/or school administrators
  • Student preparation, incentive or other programs that drive achievement /performance and matriculation (including early childhood)
  • Classroom equipment or supplies that are proven to drive achievement /performance and are tied to a program or training/professional development
  • Programs that remove barriers or address problems related to lack of performance
  • Programs that engage parents in supporting their student’s achievement in reading, math or the pursuit of graduation and/or enrollment in higher education
  • Research studies, surveys or other activities to identify gaps and needs
• Higher Education:
  • Student counseling or advising services that help students navigate the process of enrollment in a higher ed program
  • Programs that increase access / remove barriers to enrollment or the pursuit of higher ed
  • Teacher/school administrator or counselor training needed to fully understand the higher education landscape, what is available to students and how to access it
  • Student preparation, awareness, incentive or other campaigns or efforts that drive enrollment and attainment
  • Research studies, surveys or other activities to identify gaps and needs

Economic Opportunity:

The following are examples of the types of programs we seek in support of the Economic Opportunity priority and goals.

• Small Business Development:
  • Programs that provide training or skill-building to entrepreneurs on start-up or growth
  • Access to capital programs
  • Other support services that drive start-up, expansion or retention
  • Research studies, surveys or other activities to identify gaps and needs among small business owners
• Affordable Housing:
  • Loan funds or other resource programs that help families access housing options or make housing more affordable for them
  • Housing improvement programs that allow families to stay in safe, quality housing
  • Research studies, surveys or other activities to identify gaps, needs or viable models
• Other Economic Opportunity:
  • Programs that provide transportation to health, education, recreation or other critical activities
  • Programs that increase the availability of and access to quality healthcare facilities and services
  • Projects that create or improve parks or other recreational activities
  • Projects that improve or eliminate blight or beautify high traffic areas in the community
  • Restoration of lands for habitat or public use
  • Projects that improve river or waterway health

Capacity and Leadership:

The following are examples of the types of programs we seek in support of the Resiliency, Capacity and Leadership priority and goals.

• Programs that provide leadership or other skills for staff, board, volunteers or other community constituents to improve organizational or community performance.
• Organizational self-assessment or diagnoses activities to determine gaps and needs.
• Efforts to develop leadership succession plans that protect and prolong organizational effectiveness.
• Planning initiatives to evaluate, identify and/or consider supports needed to weather future economic disruptions (commodities market or global economy downturns, health pandemics, technological disruptors to the future of jobs/economies, etc.)
• Programs, training or other efforts that aid organizations in understanding the broader social context of which they are part and how they can collectively mobilize to address community needs and create resiliency.
• The development of leadership networks as a tool for transformative social change and amplifying impact across social systems or issues.
• Projects to increase citizen engagement in solving or addressing community challenges or opportunities.

This philosophy includes securing and maintaining our social license to operate and delivering transformation through robust stakeholder engagement and consultation, social investment, and impact evaluation. 

The Mini-Grants for Education program, funded by the Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation, aims to support K-12 educators in eligible communities. Grants ranging from $100 to $500 are available for diverse projects, including environmental initiatives and STEM education. Since its inception in 2006, the program has allocated over $700,000 to enhance classroom experiences. Teachers and school staff in specified areas can apply, ensuring that resources are directed where they are most needed.

The Eddie C. and C Sylvia Brown Family Foundation Grant, established in 1994, aims to support charitable initiatives in health, the arts, and K-12 education, focusing on the African American community in Baltimore. The foundation prioritizes programs addressing mental health, cancer prevention, and educational opportunities for disadvantaged youth. Eligible applicants include public charities under 501(c)(3) that do not discriminate. The foundation seeks impactful projects over time rather than transient programs, ensuring a lasting benefit to the community.

The Altman Foundation Grant invites organizations with 501(c)(3) status in New York City to submit Letters of Inquiry for health-related projects. This funding focuses on improving access to quality healthcare for underserved populations, enhancing the capacity of local service providers, and addressing structural barriers to health equity. New grants are currently limited, and only health-related LOIs will be accepted. Eligible applicants should review specific interests outlined by the Foundation before applying.

The Greater Memphis Area Grants by AutoZone aim to support nonprofit organizations in Shelby County, Tennessee. These grants focus on improving community health, education, and development with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion. Eligible organizations can apply for project or capital campaign grants that align with AutoZone's strategic pillars. However, funds are not available for individuals, religious organizations with specific missions, or other ineligible purposes, ensuring contributions benefit the wider community.

The Achelis and Bodman Foundation, established in 2015, focuses on grantmaking in New York City and northern New Jersey, addressing critical issues in six program areas: Arts and Culture, Education, Employment, Health, Public Policy, and Youth and Families. Emphasizing support for nonprofit organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3), the Foundation aims to improve local communities through impactful grants while prioritizing accountability and excellence in various sectors.

The Corning Nonprofit Grants program supports community-based initiatives in education, human services, and culture. Eligible nonprofits that align with our criteria may apply for funding on a rolling basis. The application window for invited organizations runs from February 10 to September 15. We emphasize local impact within a 20-mile radius of Corning, NY, ensuring that our contributions foster collective growth and engagement in the community.

The AACF "Difference Maker" Grants provide support for innovative community initiatives in Alexandria. Targeting 501(c)(3) nonprofits, schools, and government entities, the program focuses on education, social services, health, arts, and civic engagement. Grants aim to empower projects that create sustainable positive impacts, foster collaboration, and enhance community well-being. Applications are encouraged for projects that address pressing community challenges and promote diversity and inclusion, thereby ensuring lasting change in the region.
