The Middle Tennessee Fund Grant, offered by the HCA Healthcare Foundation, supports nonprofits in addressing community needs related to basic necessities, healthcare, education, and the arts. Since its inception in 1997, it has prioritized organizations with established relationships with HCA Healthcare. Eligible applicants must be 501c3 organizations with a minimum budget of $250,000, serving the Middle Tennessee area, and demonstrating engagement with HCA Healthcare through board involvement or volunteerism.

The Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation supports community grants in Arkansas and West Texas, focusing on areas such as aging populations, arts and culture, children and youth, economically disadvantaged individuals, education, and nonprofit capacity building. Grants aim to enhance the quality of life, promote independence, and ensure access to essential services for vulnerable groups. Eligible applicants are local organizations that align with the foundation's mission and geographic focus.

The Skokie Community Foundation Grants promote collaboration among organizations to enhance community welfare in Skokie. Applications must involve at least two partners, including a qualified nonprofit or governmental entity. The foundation funds diverse projects addressing arts, education, health, and more. The aim is to create lasting benefits for the Skokie community, ensuring that funded initiatives support both immediate needs and long-term development.

The Thomas H. Pitts Trust Grant supports charitable and humanitarian efforts aimed at helping the poor and needy in the Atlanta area. Applications are accepted year-round, but must be submitted by June 15 for consideration in the current calendar year. Eligible organizations must be located within the Metro Atlanta area and qualify as exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The Emeril Lagasse Foundation offers Community Grants aimed at supporting 501c3 non-profit organizations that focus on culinary, nutrition, and arts education, with an emphasis on life skills development. Grants are available to organizations in communities where the foundation operates, including Greater New Orleans, Austin, and Southern California. Eligible applicants must demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and align with the foundation's vision of empowering youth to reach their full potential.

The Betterment Fund Grant provides financial support ranging from $10,000 to $35,000 annually, aimed at enhancing education, health, conservation, and community support in Maine. The fund prioritizes systemic community initiatives that address essential human needs while favoring projects with a proven track record in grant management. Special attention is given to projects in the Western Mountains region, although broader applications that meet their criteria may also be considered.

The True Inspiration Awards, established by Chick-fil-A in 2015, recognizes nonprofit organizations that significantly impact their communities. In 2025, the program will distribute $6 million in grants, ranging from $30,000 to $350,000, to sixteen selected organizations. Categories include Caring for People, Caring through Food, Community, and Caring for our Planet, with a focus on educational initiatives, food security, housing services, and environmental stewardship, honoring the legacy of founder S. Truett Cathy.

Community Giving

Each year, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana supports communities throughout our state with grants and sponsorships with the overarching goal of improving access to and affordability of health care. We are proud of these community investments and value the very important work that organizations are doing to keep Montanans healthy.

Community giving is divided into three areas: grants, sponsorships and Blue Impact℠ major grants. Areas of focus and exclusions for all funding requests, and specific requirements for each type of funding are detailed below, along with links to apply.

Areas of Focus

All community giving at BCBSMT is designed to build healthier communities as part of an ongoing commitment to invest in and partner with nonprofit organizations to reach Montanans in these focus areas:

• Economic opportunity and stability: Addressing issues such as poverty, removing barriers to employment, providing good jobs and upskilling;
• Nutrition: Supporting efforts to decrease hunger and increase access to nutritional food;
• Neighborhood and local assets: Focusing on affordable healthy housing, access to transportation and to physical activity;
• Locally defined health solutions: Addressing hyperlocal health and human service needs; and 
• Optimal health

BCBSMT Grants

A charitable grant supports either program-focused initiatives or general operating support. Grants provide support to programs and organizations that align with our mission to promote health, wellness and human services in the communities we serve.

The Kenedy Memorial Foundation Grant supports both Sectarian and Non-Sectarian entities, primarily focusing on Catholic schools and churches in Texas. The Foundation emphasizes grants that foster significant community benefits and encourages applications from recognized 501(c)(3) organizations. Core values include breaking the cycle of poverty, advancing spirituality, and nurturing support for Catholic institutions. The Foundation also allocates a portion of funds to non-sectarian charities, promoting inclusive support within the community.

The Northland Foundation offers quarterly grants aimed at supporting nonprofit organizations in Northeast Minnesota and nearby Native nations. These grants provide flexible funding for general operations or specific programs that address community needs such as health, housing, and education. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, educational institutions, and local governments. The foundation prioritizes projects that promote equity, community engagement, and sustainable impact, ensuring that resources reach underserved populations.

The Central Mesabi Fund for Human Services, managed by the Boreal Waters Community Foundation, provides grants between $2,000 and $10,000 to agencies aiding low-income individuals in specific Minnesota communities. Eligible organizations include nonprofits, governmental entities, and schools that demonstrate financial need and programmatic merit. However, grants for equipment or capital improvements are typically excluded. This initiative aims to support essential services to enhance community welfare.

The Water-Right Charitable Fund Grant aims to support nonprofit organizations in the Fox Valley region by providing financial assistance for projects that meet the needs of the community. With awards typically up to $3,000, the fund prioritizes basic needs, environmental initiatives, and education. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) charities serving the area, while ineligible requests include individual schools and religious organizations. The fund encourages thoughtful proposals that benefit the public.

BOK Charitable Contributions aims to enhance community life and economic wellbeing across several states, focusing on four key pillars: United Way, economic development, education, and basic needs. The foundation supports organizations that address poverty, education, and community health. Their strategic approach ensures impactful contributions, and they welcome grant applications year-round. BOK Financial's commitment is evident in its partnerships with local nonprofits, fostering sustainable growth and development in the regions they serve.

The MetroWest Emergency Relief Fund supports nonprofit organizations in the MetroWest region during crises, including natural disasters and public health emergencies. By rapidly deploying financial resources, the fund aims to assist vulnerable populations and address urgent community needs, particularly for migrant families. The Community Foundation for MetroWest oversees this initiative, ensuring that help reaches those who are most affected and in need of support.

The Branford Community Foundation (BCF) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Branford, Connecticut, by funding organizations and projects in key focus areas such as basic needs, health, education, arts, environment, and youth services. Grants are awarded to 501(c)(3) nonprofits and governmental agencies that demonstrate a positive impact. BCF prioritizes initiatives addressing food insecurity, mental health, and community joy, while fostering collaboration and capacity building among local organizations.

The BCF Emergent Needs Grants provide funding for urgent projects and emergencies that fall outside the typical annual grant cycle. This initiative is designed for 501(c)3 organizations and governmental agencies in Branford that can demonstrate a significant need for funding. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting May 15th, allowing for timely support to innovative or unforeseen initiatives.

The Ellbogen Foundation Grants aim to enhance the well-being and education of Wyoming residents. With a focus on serving large regions or the entire state, the Foundation prioritizes educational initiatives that improve teacher quality and student experiences. Organizations should align their proposals with the Foundation's mission and funding criteria, particularly in education and community support, while being aware that certain activities, like capital campaigns, are not eligible for funding.

The Greene County Emergency Response Fund aims to address urgent local needs arising from emergencies and disasters in Greene County. Established by CFGC and the Greene County United Way, this fund provides quick and flexible grants to nonprofit organizations assisting communities affected by crises. Grants will focus on meeting basic needs such as food, housing, and healthcare, with a particular emphasis on issues intensified by COVID-19. The fund will also support operational costs for organizations to ensure they can continue their essential services.

The Sharing Success Community Grants, supported by Randolph EMC and CoBank, aims to positively impact local communities in Randolph, Moore, Montgomery, Alamance, and Chatham counties. With a total funding of $20,000 available, qualifying organizations can apply for grants up to $2,000 for programs that address health, financial support, and educational advancement needs. This initiative reflects Randolph EMC's commitment to its People Helping People mission, fostering community support and engagement.

The Vecino – Neighbor Helping Neighbor Fund, managed by the New Mexico Foundation, aims to support nonprofit organizations facing financial crises and addressing urgent community needs. Since its inception in 2015, it has allocated over $1.1 million to various initiatives. The fund prioritizes rural organizations and requires applicants to be 501(c)(3) nonprofits in good standing or have a suitable fiscal sponsor. Grants will vary based on available funding, reflecting the commitment to transform lives in New Mexico.

The Emergency Support Fund of the Shelby Foundation provides crucial assistance to nonprofits responding to emergencies in the Shelby community. With a focus on immediate needs arising from crises, the fund supports local food pantries and organizations that deliver essential services to residents. Funds are allocated on a rolling basis, ensuring that both current and future needs are met effectively. This initiative aims to eliminate barriers and provide timely support to those affected.

The IronMountain Solutions Employee Peaks Fund, established in 2018 in partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville, supports local non-profits. With over $400,000 donated by employees, the fund prioritizes quality of life initiatives such as arts, basic needs, economic opportunity, education, environment, health, and community development. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) non-profits serving the Huntsville area, ensuring services are accessible to all community members.

Reynolds American Foundation Guidelines for Giving

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company (R.J. Reynolds) is proud of the fact that it has been a responsible corporate citizen of North Carolina for more than 130 years. In a tradition established by the company’s founder, Richard Joshua Reynolds, R.J. Reynolds remains committed to using its resources to enhance the quality of life in the communities where employees live and work.

Community

Local programs and capital campaigns in target communities for improving wellbeing, educational, and socioeconomic outcomes.

Education

Programs preparing children to enter the public education system and programs focused on improving academic performance of low-performing and economically disadvantaged students. Except for business-partner relationships, school grants are made through superintendents’ offices.

Wellbeing

Programs designed to address unmet needs of at-risk populations, focusing on overall quality of life and providing basic human needs.

The VMIG Charitable Giving Fund aims to enhance community quality of life in regions served by Vermont Mutual Insurance Group. This fund supports non-profit organizations focusing on education, youth development, community building, and basic needs such as housing and hunger. Eligible organizations must operate within specific states and provide proof of 501(c)(3) status. The fund reflects a commitment to fostering healthy, vibrant communities through meaningful financial contributions.

The BGCF365 Grants, initiated by the Blue Grass Community Foundation, empower emerging philanthropists to collectively fund nonprofit projects that dismantle barriers to employment, transportation, and housing for families in Fayette County. In 2024, grants will focus on enhancing resilience among youth aged 0-22. Members contribute $365 annually, pooling resources to award $30,000 to selected organizations. This initiative fosters community engagement and aims to improve living conditions for all in Lexington.

The Season for Sharing Grant supports non-profit organizations in Arizona, focusing on children, families, arts, education, and older adults. With funding ranging from $7,500 to $50,000, this initiative aims to address critical needs such as child protection, food access, emergency shelter, and educational support. Eligible applicants must be based in Maricopa or Pinal counties, ensuring that assistance directly benefits local communities. This collaborative effort highlights the importance of charitable contributions during the holiday season.

The Greater Lawrence Community Fund Grant provides essential program support for nonprofit organizations in Lawrence, Methuen, Andover, and North Andover, focusing on hunger, clothing, shelter, and education. The grant favors collaborative projects and evaluates proposals based on documented needs, organizational capacity, and potential impacts. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations committed to non-discrimination. Grants are typically for specific programs that can be assessed within a year, supporting small organizations as needed.
