Harold & Mary Snook Scholarship

The Harold & Mary Snook Scholarship was established to provide scholarship assistance to help defray technical or trade school, college or university expenses of students in financial need who are pursuing studies in education or any medical field, with preference to those studying nursing. Students who do not have a GPA or test score that are believed to be reflective of their skills and ability are asked to provide an explanation in the form of an essay.

Helen "Heidi" Badgett Scholarship

The Helen "Heidi" Badgett Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to re-entry adults who are returning to college after a period away from school or students graduating from high school or college seeking to further their academic, professional, or career training. Grants will be awarded to applicants with limited financial means who have a strong desire to further their education and demonstrate sufficient academic promise to complete their course of study.

H.L. Lyons III Memorial Scholarship

The H.L. Lyons III Memorial Scholarship was established to provide assistance to help defray expenses for vocational and/or technical post-secondary educational courses or other such training that would help the recipient attain, sustain, or expand their employability by learning new technical skills or trades. Applicants must have experience working in a technical trade, vocation, or manufacturing job, or demonstrate an aptitude for a technical trade and/or vocation.

James W. Hardaway Memorial Scholarship

The James W. Hardaway Memorial Scholarship of First Harrison Bank was established by a bequest made in memory of James W. Hardaway, who served the bank for over 58 years. Specifically, this is designed to provide scholarship assistance in the form of grants to help defray college or university expenses of students graduating from high schools in Bullitt County, KY.

The Patterson Foundation offers Assistance Dog Program Grants to support organizations providing service animals to veterans and individuals with disabilities. Joshua A. Sterling Scholarship

The Joshua A. Sterling Scholarship was designed to provide scholarship assistance in the form of grants to help defray expenses of any two-year or four-year college or university located in Kentucky, or any trade or vocational school located in Kentucky, of graduating seniors from Nelson County, Kentucky.

Scholarship awards are not automatically renewable. Students must reapply each year to be considered for renewal, although preference will be given to students who have received a grant in previous years. Students applying for renewal must show proof of part time work, including work study or unpaid internships, to qualify for renewal of a scholarship award.

Black students ages 17–24 from West Louisville pursuing higher education and engaged in social justice can receive the Keep Going Scholarship to help defray college or university expenses in Kentucky, with awards of US $2,500. With a mission to support education access, Community Foundation of Louisville honors youth leadership and advocacy through this scholarship.

Kentucky students graduating from Fern Creek High School who completed at least three years of Marine Corps JROTC and plan vocational, trade, college, or university study can receive US $1,500 toward educational expenses. The Community Foundation of Louisville supports these emerging leaders, whose community service and citizenship may connect to health-related career pathways.

The Coaching Enhancement Grant - Division II aims to enhance diversity in NCAA coaching by providing financial support for new assistant coaching positions. This grant specifically targets increased representation of ethnic minorities and women in athletics. Selected schools receive funding for three years to cover salaries and benefits, totaling $370,000 annually for up to 21 institutions. Eligible schools must be active NCAA Division II members committed to these diversity efforts.

The Dunkin’ Prom Grant, provided by the Joy in Childhood Foundation, aims to bring joy to teenage patients unable to attend their own prom due to illness. By funding hospitals to host prom-like events, the program ensures these patients experience this significant milestone. Dr. Lynn Wagner Scholarship

Dr. Lynn Koch Wagner's passion was history and teaching history. She was a Louisville native and Southern High School graduate, who went on to earn multiple degrees in history at Morehead State College and her Doctorate of Education at the University of Louisville. Dr. Wagner taught for more than thirty years at the University of Louisville, Bellarmine University, and Jefferson Community College. Her sister and brother-in-law, Elise and Dann Stevens, along with Dr. Wagner's brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, are creating this scholarship to honor her lifetime commitment to education and in the hopes of assisting other promising students in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Specifically, this scholarship is designed to provide scholarship assistance in the form of grants to help defray college or university expenses of students pursuing a college education.

The Emerging Traditional Artists Program (ETAP), presented by South Arts Inc., supports early-career traditional artists from Appalachian Regional Commission-designated counties. With a $5,000 award, artists can access training, networking, and mentorship opportunities to enhance their skills and community impact. This initiative aims to preserve traditional arts and culture while fostering a new generation of artists dedicated to their craft and cultural heritage.

The 2027 Continuing Education Grant is made possible by funding from the Grants to States program administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).  This grant aligns with Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives' (KDLA) five-year strategic plan to enhance Institutional Capacity to “enhance the knowledge and skills of public library and archival staff through professional development and training opportunities. This grant will only cover conferences taking place between October 1, 2026, and September 30, 2027.  The goal is to provide essential funding to Kentucky's public libraries, enabling them to expand and enhance their staff’s learning opportunities.

Awards shall be disbursed as follows-

• $5000 large libraries (40+ full-time staff)
• $4000 medium libraries (15 – 39 full-time staff)
• $3000 small libraries (6 – 14 full-time staff)
• $2000 very small libraries (1 – 5 full-time staff)

The Queer Mobilization Fund (QMF) supports community-led projects that advance Queer and Trans liberation, particularly for BIPOC individuals in the Southeastern US. Established in 2016, QMF prioritizes grassroots organizations with budgets under $300,000. The fund emphasizes rapid response funding and capacity building, aiming to empower marginalized communities often excluded from financial support. QMF does not fund groups outside the Southeast or for-profit activities, ensuring resources are directed towards those leading efforts for LGBTQ+ rights.
