Monroe Tractor Scholarship

Purpose of Scholarship

To provide annual college scholarships to students interested in studying agriculture or agricultural management.

Number and Size of Awards

One award of $4,000; paid as $1,000 per year for up to four consecutive years of undergraduate study. Additionally, one Book Award of $500. Book Award paid in one lump sum in the Fall semester and renewable awards paid in one lump sum in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.

Donor Information

This scholarship was established in 2001 by the Monroe Tractor and Implement Company to assist students who are studying agriculture in college.

Friends of NRA

Friends of NRA is the National Rifle Association’s premier fundraising program, supporting the future of shooting sports. Since day one, Friends of NRA has been a 100% grassroots effort fueled by a united front to secure the Second Amendment and raise money for the shooting sports.

Committee volunteers are appointed to State Fund Committees to make recommendations for local grant funding in areas such as youth education, women-focused clinics, law enforcement training, hunter safety, range improvement, firearms and marksmanship training and safety. Recognizing the impact American youth has on the future of the shooting sports, State Fund Committees frequently recommend grants for youth programs, allocating the most significant portion of monies to this vital area.

Grant awards fund activities and support programs in the United States to promote firearms and hunting safety, to enhance marksmanship skills of those in the shooting sports, and to educate the public about firearms in their historic, technological and artistic context.

Friends of NRA State Fund Grant Program - New York

The Friends of NRA State Fund Grant Program provides supplies, equipment, and financial support to a variety of qualified groups and programs at the local level; geared towards youth, women, law enforcement, veterans, the disabled, and the general public, including:

• General shooting programs
• Competitive shooting
• Education, training and safety
• Hunting and conservation
• Community outreach
• Historical education

Grant funding must be used to further a charitable purpose as defined by the Internal Revenue Code under section 501(c)(3) and accompanying rules, regulations, and other IRS law and materials.

Natale Scholarship

Purpose of Scholarship

To provide scholarships to deserving residents of the town of Irondequoit.

Number and Size of Awards

One award of up to $30,000; paid as $7,500 per year for four consecutive years of undergraduate study. Award paid in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.

Donor Information

This scholarship was created to provide scholarships to deserving residents of the town of Irondequoit to attend the University of Illinois, Rochester Institute of Technology or Niagara University.

The New Car Dealers of WNY Charitable Foundation Grant aims to enhance the well-being of children and families in Western New York. Dale Lawrence and Rosalie Viener Rockwell Educational Scholarship

Purpose of Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to students with profound hearing loss for the expenses associated with pursuing higher education.

Number and Size of Awards

One award of $10,000 each to one student at Rochester School for the Deaf and one student within the eight-county region.

Award is divided into equal annual installments paid over four consecutive years of undergraduate study and is paid in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.

Purpose of Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to graduate nursing students studying to become nurse practitioners for the expenses associated with higher education.

Number and Size of Awards

Two awards of $18,000 each; paid as $6,000 per year for up to three consecutive years of graduate study. Award paid in the Fall and divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.

This scholarship was created by the estate of Elizabeth Schmidt to provide scholarships for nursing students and graduate nursing students studying to become nurse practitioners from Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, and Yates Counties to attend colleges and universities in the same four county area.

Elvira Caroselli Creative Spirit Award

Purpose of Scholarship

The Elvira Caroselli Creative Spirit Award will provide small awards to encourage the creative spirit and endeavors of junior and senior high school students.

Number and Size of Awards

Number of recipients and award amounts vary; paid in one lump sum in the Summer. Maximum award $1,500.

Donor Information

Mrs. Caroselli loved creating, designing, and experimenting. This remarkable woman dropped out of school in the eighth grade to help support her family. Despite a lack of formal education, she sold an invention to a major manufacturer when she was 70 years old.

The IML Mentorship Grant offers students at the Eastman School of Music funding and mentorship to foster innovative ideas in music. It seeks applicants who demonstrate musical excellence, a compelling project concept, and the potential for sustainable initiatives. Eligible candidates must be full-time students during the award period and attend an advising appointment before applying. This grant aims to enhance creativity and add value to both the music field and the community.

Everest Institute Alumni Fund Scholarship

Purpose of Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to a graduating senior from a community of color residing in our 8-county region who plans to attend Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship or pursue a similar post-secondary business degree or certificate program.

Number and Size of Awards

Number of recipients and award amounts vary; paid in one lump sum.

Donor Information

This scholarship was created by contributions from Everest Institute alumni; the fund was transferred from a bank to the Community Foundation in 1991.

The Brinker International Charitable Giving Program focuses on giving back to communities through support for kids, hunger, and education. Organizations eligible for funding must be 501c(3) non-profits and submit requests at least six weeks prior to events. The program does not support individuals, political or religious organizations, or explicit discrimination policies. Funding is provided through monetary donations or in-kind contributions like dining certificates.

The Black Giving Collective (BGC) champions Black-led initiatives in the eight-county region of Rochester, New York, addressing systemic disparities within the Black community. Guided by the 2024 State of Black Rochester report, BGC provides grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000, focusing on program support, capacity building, technology, and community engagement. Organizations must have Black leadership or membership to apply, ensuring that funding directly impacts and uplifts the community.

The Jean Griswold Foundation

The Jean Griswold Foundation (JGF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Caregivers through educational opportunities and scholarships. 

Our Mission

The mission of the Jean Griswold Foundation is to support Caregivers by providing educational scholarships* to enable them to further their training, enhance their careers, and better assist the clients they serve.

By offering educational scholarships*, our Foundation will not only make a positive impact on the Caregivers themselves, but also the clients they assist and the home healthcare agencies where they are employed, as well as help advance the overarching home-care industry.

Scholarships will be paid directly to the federally accredited educational institutions of the winning Scholars’ choosing.

Empowering Caregivers Through Education

The Jean Griswold Foundation Scholarship Program awards scholarships to deserving Caregivers who wish to further their education in a care-related field. Applicants do not have to be associated with Griswold in any way, and the funds will be paid directly to the institution where the caregiver will be receiving education.

The Stickley Scholarship Fund, established by L. & J. G. Stickley, Inc., offers the Aminy I. Audi Scholarship Award. This scholarship supports high school graduates who are children of full-time employees with over two years of service. Recipients must demonstrate financial need, engage in community service, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. The John F. Wegman Fund, established in 1953, focuses on enhancing community welfare in Rochester and Monroe County. It supports innovative, small-scale programs aimed at improving the lives of older adults, youth, and labor relations through education. With a preference for one-time grants, the fund seeks to empower nonprofit organizations that address these critical community needs, ensuring impactful contributions to the region's quality of life.

The Helen and Ritter Shumway Foundation Grant aims to support conservation and historic preservation in Rochester, New York, and nearby areas. This grant encourages charitable organizations to submit requests for general operating and program support, particularly focusing on traditionally underserved communities. The foundation, established by Helen S. Mayer, also honors the legacy of her brother, Ritter Shumway, by backing causes they valued. Applications for endowment campaigns or capital projects are typically not accepted.

The Brockport Arts Fund, supported by the Rochester Area Community Foundation, aims to enhance the cultural landscape of the Village of Brockport. By providing financial assistance for performing arts events and public art installations, the fund benefits both residents and visitors. Eligible applicants must be 501c3 organizations within the 14420 zip code, focusing on projects that foster community engagement and artistic expression. This initiative seeks to inspire lasting positive change through art and creativity.
