Mission

The DanPaul Foundation will use its resources to help train teachers and parents in early childhood development, protect children from abuse and neglect, stimulate children's personal social responsibilities, and offer them opportunities for enrichment and growth.

The Foundation will also encourage children to be concerned and informed about the environment and the underprivileged, particularly with regard to clean air and water, and adequate housing and nutrition for all.

Beliefs

The DanPaul Foundation believes that children should have ample opportunities for enrichment in their lives, and thus strives to provide many different ways to enrich and expand children's minds through direct programs and monetary support to organizations doing similar work.

We have provided or currently provide grants related to the following program areas:

• Workshops, Conferences, + Seminars: We strive to offer educational workshops, conferences, and seminars for parents and teachers on topics related to early childhood development.
• Student Scholarships: We aim to help students attending post-secondary education institutions by providing need-based and academic scholarships.
• Scientific Endeavors: We desire to advance scientific endeavors which seek to improve the quality of life for everyone in the world.
• Clean Air + Water: We hope to pass on knowledge and practical life skills to youth regarding their personal responsibility to the environment, teaching them about issues surrounding clean air and water.
• Child Advocacy: We believe in protecting children from abuse and neglect and particularly love to support programs that provide education and assistance to children as well as organizations advocating or caring for vulnerable children.
• Homelessness: We want to encourage young people to take a personal interest in seeing that adequate housing and proper nutrition, especially for the underprivileged and homeless, are available.
• Poverty + Neglect: We seek to help those in poverty as well as educate youth about their responsibility to consider the underprivileged and take care of those most in need of life's basic essentials like adequate housing and proper nutrition.
• Refugee Enrichment: We wish to help refugee youth by supporting programs that provide them enrichment and help them transition to life in a new country.

The DanPaul Foundation provides grants to 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organizations as defined by the IRS. The Foundation is interested in providing funding to programs that directly serve the health, education, development, and welfare of the world's youth.

Grants range from a few hundred dollars up to $15,000 per calendar year.

Background

Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation seeks to dramatically improve the lives of underserved communities across the globe by supporting scalable, innovative, and impact-first solutions that leverage existing systems and stakeholders. What We Fund

DRK Foundation funds early-stage social impact organizations solving the world’s biggest social and environmental problems using bold, scalable approaches.

What stage of growth does DRK Foundation typically fund?

Early stage: Organizations who are early stage, which we define as post-pilot and pre-scale. This typically means: 

• Your program, product or service is already being used in the market or in the field, 
• You have early indication that your model is having its intended impact on the beneficiary populations,
• Your organization is relatively young (ideally between two and five years old, although we will consider both younger and older organizations).

Venture funding: In the case of for profits, we typically support Seed to Series A organizations, and never lead rounds; we also generally but not exclusively refrain from participating in financings exceeding a $15M USD post-money valuation.

The Astros Foundation

The Astros Foundation is the official 501(c)(3) team charity of the Houston Astros. We seek to harness the passion of our fans to support youth sports and education programs, the recognition/honor of our nation's military, childhood cancer and domestic violence awareness and efforts to reduce homelessness. Our cornerstone initiatives include the Community Leaders program, the Astros MLB Youth Academy and the Astros Nike RBI Program (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities).

Houston Astros Group Charity Ticket Program

The Houston Astros are grateful to the hundreds of vital nonprofit programs that make our community a stronger, more vibrant place for all of us. As a small token of our appreciation for the outreach and impact these nonprofits have on our community, the Astros are proud to grant complimentary home game tickets to qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofits within the Astros' home territory.

• Each group may apply for up to two games a year. There is no guarantee that two games will be awarded.
• 501(c)(3) charities may request up to 50 tickets per game
• Requests that require special seating for disabled individuals are available, however, wheelchairs and wheelchair attendant seating is limited. Each wheelchair ticket will come with a wheelchair attendant.

The Astros Charity Ticket Program is designed to have a meaningful impact on those awarded a ticket grant. The Astros expect that once tickets are granted that they be fully used.

• Ticket usage is tracked. Groups that do not take full advantage of their tickets will be unable to participate in the future.
• Requests received with less than two weeks advance notice of the earliest game requested may not be processed.
• The program is limited to pre-determined game dates.
• Once tickets are awarded they cannot be exchanged for a different game.
• In the event the tickets are lost, they cannot be replaced.
• The tickets awarded through the grant program cannot be re-sold. If charities or persons receiving charity tickets resell any of the tickets donated to them the organization will be permanently disqualified.
• Once you are awarded tickets they are yours and cannot be reallocated or exchanged.

Our Mission

The 1687 Foundation (“Foundation”) is a nonprofit corporation that is organized for Christian, educational and charitable purposes. The Foundation is recognized by the IRS as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The mission of the Foundation is accomplished through the operation of its Retreat Ministry, Book Ministry, Hunting and Fishing Ministry, Museum Ministry; all as explained in this website. All of the Foundation’s activities are provided free of charge.

Our Goal

The 1687 Foundation Hunting & Fishing Ministry exists to provide a place of solace, healing, and refuge, through hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities, to those who need it most. We use the Scriptures and God's Word, to relate to those we serve.

Who We Serve

The ministry was established to serve disabled children, terminally ill children, single-parent children, disabled veterans and active service members and families, inner city kids, and other individuals and groups with similar needs or who have experienced brokenness.

Through hunting, fishing, and many other outdoor activities, participants experience God’s amazing handiwork in this beautiful ranch setting. It is our heart’s desire that they see Christ in us, and in this place, and will desire to know Him more.

We team with other like-minded, 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations to serve these individuals and groups. We provide all accommodations and services at no charge.

The 1687 Foundation Hunting & Fishing events are held in a breathtaking ranch setting near Abilene, Texas. The handiwork of God's creation is in full view at every turn. Our facilities and accommodations gift participants with the very best as God has provided us!

The Labcorp Charitable Foundation

Michael & Susan Dell Foundation Grants

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation only accepts unsolicited proposals for specific areas within the education, family economic stability and childhood health sectors in select countries where we work, namely the United States, India and South Africa.

As a guideline, the foundation does not fund more than 25% of a project’s budget or more than 10% of an organization’s total annual operating expenses.

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has always recognized the power of providing grants to partner organizations that we knew were already working hard to improve the lives of urban children living in poverty. By aligning with organizations that are already making a difference, we continue to make an immediate impact on the lives of thousands of children.

Foundation priorities:

We fund social enterprises that directly serve or impact children or youth from urban low-income communities in the areas of education, health, and family economic stability (including livelihoods and financial inclusion). PNC Foundation

Strengthening and enriching the lives of our neighbors in communities where we live and work.

Vision & Mission

For decades, we have provided resources to seed ideas, foster development initiatives and encourage leadership in nonprofit organizations where imagination and determination are at work enhancing people's lives everyday.

The PNC Foundation's priority is to form partnerships with community-based nonprofit organizations in order to enhance educational opportunities, with an emphasis on early childhood education, and to promote the growth of communities through economic development initiatives.

Foundation Grant

The PNC Foundation supports a variety of nonprofit organizations with a special emphasis on those that work to achieve sustainability and touch a diverse population, in particular, those that support early childhood education and/or economic development.

Education

The PNC Foundation supports educational programs for children and youth, particularly early childhood education initiatives that meet the criteria established through PNC Grow Up Great. Specifically, PNC Grow Up Great grants must:

• Support early education initiatives that benefit children from birth to age five; and
• Serve a majority of children (>50%) from low- to moderate-income families; and
• Adhere to all other standard PNC Foundation guidelines, as outlined on the PNC Foundation website, applicant eligibility quiz, as well as the Foundation policies and procedures; and
• Include one or a combination of the following:
  • direct services/programs for children in their classroom or community;
  • professional development/workforce development for early childhood educators;
  • family and/or community engagement in children’s early learning
• Additional considerations:
  • The grant focus should include math, science, reading, vocabulary development, the arts, financial education, or social/emotional development.
  • The grant recipient, or collaborative partner, should have early childhood education as an area of focus. If the organization’s focus is beyond birth to age five, the specific grant must be earmarked for birth to age five.
  • Incorporate opportunities for PNC volunteers in classroom or non-classroom-based activities.

Economic Development

Economic development organizations, including those which enhance the quality of life through neighborhood revitalization, cultural enrichment and human services are given support. Priority is given to community development initiatives that strategically promote the growth of low-and moderate-income communities and/or provide services to these communities.

• Affordable Housing
  • The PNC Foundation understands the critical need for affordable housing for low-and moderate-income individuals.
  • We are committed to providing support to nonprofit organizations that:
    • give counseling and services to help these individuals maintain their housing stock;
    • offer transitional housing units and programs; and/or
    • offer credit counseling assistance to individuals, helping them to prepare for homeownership.
• Community Development
  • Because small businesses are often critical components of community growth and help foster business development, the PNC Foundation provides support to nonprofit organizations that
    • offer technical assistance to, or loan programs for, small businesses located in low-and moderate-income areas or
    • support small businesses that employ low-and moderate-income individuals.
• Community Services
  • Support is given to social services organizations that benefit the health, education, quality of life or provide essential services for low-and moderate-income individuals and families.
  • The PNC Foundation supports job training programs and organizations that provide essential services for their families.

Founded in 2006 by Jan and Trevor Rees-Jones, The Rees-Jones Foundation is a private foundation that works with non-profit organizations, primarily in North Texas, to serve others and improve their quality of life and life circumstances in tangible ways.

The Montgomery County Community Foundation

The Montgomery County Community Foundation was established to create and build a permanent fund to provide for the present and future well-being of our community. Grants

Donor Advised Funds

A donor advised fund gives donors the opportunity to actively participate in the philanthropic process by reviewing grant requests and recommending charitable organizations/programs to receive grants. Donors enjoy the benefits of recommending grants that fulfill their charitable wishes, without the expense and obligation of administration. The Foundation’s Board of Directors is legally responsible for approving all grants.

The Annie & Irvin Hoffman Memorial Fund provides grants to nonprofit organizations based in Montgomery County with a special interest in programs for the elderly and children.

The Dan H. & Martha Foster Madeley Heritage Fund was set up to provide grants to Montgomery County nonprofit agencies for researching, collecting, preserving and sharing the histories of the people of Montgomery County, Texas.

The David and Jill Sharp Vaughan Family Fund was set up to meet the benevolent needs of our county and its citizens including, but not limited to, animal welfare.

The George and Emily Fath Fund For Human Needs provides financial assistance for the neediest families in Montgomery County with special consideration given to people who have sudden unexpected needs due to sickness, injury, disability, death in the family or natural disasters. The spirit of Matthew 25:31-46 will serve as a guide.

The Margaret and Foster Madeley Family Fund was set up to help create and foster secure environments and programs in which people are able to experience their potential to thrive.

The Metcalf Family Endowment Fund provides grants to benefit the people of Montgomery County.

The Rick and Rosalind Dauzat Endowment was established to provide grants for the arts and culture, education, and human services.

Field of Interest Funds

Through field of interest funds, donors support a particular interest area such as the arts, children and youth, health and wellness, neediest families or senior citizens. Use of the fund is restricted to the donor’s designated causes, but flexibility remains to meet changing community needs.

As a long time supporter of the Community Foundation, Mr. Brooks left a legacy of to build the future of Montgomery County.  He was especially concerned about children, the youth and senior adults. 

Dale Buckalew Crane’s children, Donnie, Debbie, Deann and Denny, established this fund to honor and remember their mother. Family was the most important thing in Dale’s life. This fund focuses on organizations that provide financial assistance to the children, youth and the elderly of Montgomery County.

Aaron and Dianna Dushkin were community and business leaders in Conroe, with a furniture store on the Courthouse Square.  They helped establish several nonprofits which helped community residents.  Dianna and her children have established this fund to benefit projects that support and encourage the creative arts and literacy in the Montgomery County area.

The Elise Mae & Edward Everett Taylor Fund was created through the Taylor’s will to provide financial assistance to the neediest individuals in Montgomery County, with a special interest in programs that provide services to meet the needs of elderly citizens in the community.

The Jeffrey Kass, MD Dog Rescue & Animal Welfare Fund was created primarily to support dog rescue, including fostering, veterinarian care, transportation, and the adoption process. The Fund also provides assistance to organizations that deal with injured, abandoned or abused animals.

The Jeffrey Kass, MD Elderly Assistance Fund was created to provide support for the indigent elderly in need. All seniors are entitled to proper nutrition, medical care, medications, transportation assistance and companionship. Organizations that are assisting the indigent elderly in any or all of these areas are eligible for grants under this fund.

Arts and culture are a vibrant part of Montgomery County life. This fund honors the spirit of the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society closed its doors and will support performing and visual arts and cultural activities.

Support the environment and ecology initiatives.  Grants will be available once the fund is fully funded.

Created in honor of MCCF’s 2007 – 2017 Executive Director Shannon Kidd’s huge heart, this fund supports programs focused on securing and sustaining the physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual well-being of children who have been abused and neglected. The spirit of James 1:27 will serve as a guide: Religion the God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Support physical and mental health care needs including prevention and education.  Grants will be available from this fund once it reaches full funding status.

Support services, programs, and initiatives for Veterans.

Support services, programs, and initiatives for youth and children. Grants will be available from this fund once it reaches full funding status.

To further adult literacy in Montgomery County.

The Susie and Jack Brouse Family Fund was established to provide financial assistance for the neediest families in Montgomery County, Texas, in the spirit of Matthew 25:31-46.

The Woodlands Medical Center Foundation Fund was established for the purpose of providing health care and wellness assistance and education, including shelter and medical or psychological screening, treatment, or counseling in the South Montgomery County/The Woodlands area, through funding of capital improvements.

The Vernon Randolph Yeakely Endowment Fund was established through Mr. Yeakley’s will to provide funding for homeless, hungry and needy people in Montgomery County.

The Vernon Randolph Yeakley Fund for Animal Welfare was established through Mr. Yeakley’s will to provide a perpetual source or funds to promote the humane treatment of animals through community education and supporting responsible pet/animal ownership.

Unrestricted Funds

Donors establishing or adding to unrestricted funds recognize that our community’s needs and opportunities change over time. These funds provide flexible resources needed to support innovative responses to address the community’s most pressing needs. The Foundation’s Distribution Committee and Board of Directors oversee the use of these funds, directing them to projects that most significantly contribute to the welfare of residents of Montgomery County.

The Don A. Buckalew Family Fund was established by Don A. Buckalew, a recognized leader and businessman in Montgomery County, and his family to meet the current and emerging needs of Montgomery County residents.

The Frankie Alexander Benevolent Fund was established by the Montgomery County Community Foundation Board of Directors as a general Unrestricted Fund to accept contributions in memory or honor of individuals.

Formerly know as the Jason & Marti Mann Family Fund, the Family Legacy Partners Endowment Fund was established to meet the current and emerging needs of Montgomery County residents.

About

The Preservation Leadership Forum of the National Trust for Historic Preservation is a network of preservation leaders — professionals, students, volunteers, activists, experts — who share the latest ideas, information, and advice, and have access to in-depth preservation resources and training.

Southwest Intervention Fund

Grants from the National Trust’s Southwest Intervention Fund are intended to further preservation efforts of the traditional cultures of the Southwest region, exclusively in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, West Texas (West Texas is defined as the area west of US Route 281 from the Oklahoma border to San Antonio proper and north of US Route 90 from San Antonio proper to Del Rio) and Utah. The Fund provides support for preservation planning efforts and enables prompt responses to emergency threats or opportunities in the eligible states. Local partners, nonprofit organizations and government agencies that have strategic opportunities to save sites or help jumpstart preservation projects are eligible for the fund’s small, catalytic grants. Grants generally range from $2,500 to $10,000.

The Fund can support assistance for a single prehistoric or historic place or actions affecting an entire state or part of a state, or several states, so long as all of the states are among the five designated states. Actions aimed at direct intervention to save historic and cultural sites and at capacity building are eligible.

Background

Historic preservation is a community-building economic tool that preserves sites, creates jobs, and strengthens local economies. The Economic Development Department’s Heritage Tourism Division manages heritage tourism programs that derive community and economic benefits while honoring and preserving Austin as a place of personal heritage.

The Heritage Preservation Grant serves to preserve and promote Austin’s irreplaceable historic sites and heritage tourism experiences. Our partners in preservation authentically represent inclusive stories of Austin’s history through capital, planning, educational, or marketing projects that engage new audiences and tourists.

Historic Preservation Fund

Per the current city code (Section 11-2-7), 15% of the City’s 7% of the hotel occupancy tax collected by the City of Austin, is allocated to the Historic Preservation Fund to support historic preservation and restoration projects and activities that attract tourists and convention delegates to the city. This may include the preservation, restoration, or rehabilitation of historic buildings, structures, objects, monuments, sites, or districts; and programming and marketing to encourage tourists and convention delegates to visit historic sites or museums in Austin.

In accordance with state statute, any expenditure of hotel occupancy taxes must meet two criteria:

• The expenditure must directly enhance and promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry; and
• It must fit into one of the state statutorily approved functions. For historic preservation and restoration projects, the project must be:
  • At, or in the immediate vicinity of, convention center facilities or visitor information centers; or
  • Located in the areas that are reasonably likely to be frequented by tourists and convention delegates

Applicants may submit either a Capital, Planning, Educational, or Marketing project proposal per funding cycle. Only one application per applicant will be considered. Applicants must solicit and submit two bids from outside consultants or vendors when submitting a project proposal.

Capital Projects

Preservation grants are awarded to restore, rehabilitate, and stabilize tourism-serving historic sites and structures. The project site must be historically-designated or eligible for historic designation.

Organizations proposing to do preservation projects on a site not owned by the applicant must obtain permission from the property owner prior to submitting an application. For projects occurring at a historic city-owned park, a Community Activated Park Project form must be reviewed and approved by the Austin Parks and Recreation Department prior to submitting a Heritage Preservation Grant application.

The Lawrence Foundation is a private family foundation focused on making grants to support environmental, human services and other causes.

The Lawrence Foundation was established in mid-2000. We make both program and operating grants and do not have any geographical restrictions on our grants. Nonprofit organizations that qualify for public charity status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or other similar organizations are eligible for grants from The Lawrence Foundation.  

Grant Amount and Types

Grants typically range between $5,000 - $10,000. In some limited cases we may make larger grants, but that is typically after we have gotten to know your organization over a period of time. We also generally don’t make multi-year grants, although we may fund the same organization on a year by year basis over a period of years.

General operating or program/project grant requests within our areas of interests are accepted. In general, regardless of whether a grant request is for general operating or program/project expenses, all of our grants will be issued as unrestricted grants.

Max and Victoria Dreyfus Foundation Grant

The Foundation will consider requests to support museums, cultural and performing arts programs; schools and hospitals; educational, skills-training and other programs for youth, seniors, and persons with disabilities; environmental and wildlife protection activities; and other community-based organizations and programs.

As the community foundation for McLennan County, we focus on the four areas of our mission:

  • We lead, follow and collaborate as needed to provide solutions to community challenges, often partnering with other foundations, nonprofits, individual donors, government, educational and healthcare institutions and the private sector.
• Strengthen our local nonprofits:
  • We support nonprofits through grants, guidance and fund management, strengthening their ability to make an impact on critical issues in our community both today and in the future.

Waco Foundation was established in 1958 with a $30,000 gift from R.B. and Edith Heinze Parrot to ensure the vitality and longevity of the Waco community. Today the Foundation manages more $130 million in charitable assets in the form of agency endowments, scholarships and community and donor advised funds, all for the benefit of the community.

Waco Foundation Grant-Making

Waco Foundation engages in both proactive and responsive grantmaking activities. The proactive grantmaking is largely implemented through staff-led initiatives and the work of select community partners. All grantmaking decisions are based on community-wide impact of improving local quality of life.

The competitive grants process was designed to help ensure the Foundation remains inclusive with regard to the causes, concerns and perspectives of area nonprofits, and responsive to the financial challenges they face.

Funding Priorities

• Fostering more racially equitable experiences and outcomes for area residents
• Helping people leave poverty permanently. As an example, priority will be given to supporting the most focused, cost-effective methods of:
  • Significantly reducing teen pregnancy
  • Significantly increasing graduation rates from high school, technical school, community college and college
• Supporting valuable projects that are:
  • Interesting, unique, and energizing; and which seek to make Waco a vibrant, inclusive and attractive community
  • Considered to be critical components and high priorities of the entire community
• Increasing the capacity of McLennan County’s nonprofit sector and the ability of the community-at-large, to address challenges:

Capital Expenses Support Grants

Capital Expenses Support Grants help cover costs related to select, small office equipment, building equipment, building renovation and/or construction costs, and select vehicle purchases

Small Capital Grants

Will be awarded in keeping with the uses noted above. While the Foundation will accept applications from a variety of nonprofits, the highest priority consideration will be given to human services, youth-serving and arts/cultural organizations needing capital assistance.

At Ameriprise Financial, giving back is deeply rooted in our culture. We’ve initiated positive change in the communities where we live and work for more than 120 years. We believe our community involvement enables us to actively live our values. Through grant making, volunteerism and employee and financial advisor gift matching programs, we support a diverse group of over 6,000 nonprofits across the country.

Volunteer engagement is a priority across all focus areas:

The engagement of Ameriprise employees and financial advisors is a critical component of our philanthropy. Whether it’s serving on a nonprofit board, engaging friends, clients and community members in volunteering or providing skills-based support, our relationships with nonprofits go deep. For this reason, we give priority across all focus areas to applications where there is active volunteer engagement of Ameriprise advisors and employees. 

Meeting Basic Needs

At Ameriprise Financial, we help clients achieve financial security and peace of mind. That’s satisfying, meaningful work. We also help the people in our neighborhoods who struggle to meet basic needs such as where their next meal comes from, where they’ll sleep tonight or how they’ll find a higher wage job. We’re here to help them through the three platforms of our Meeting Basic Needs focus area.

Consideration is given to applications addressing the following: 

• Hunger
• Food banks, food shelves and food pantries, daily meal programs or meal services for the homebound
• Hunger-relief programs targeted to meet the special needs of children, ethnic populations or veterans
• Food programs run by nonprofits where hunger is not their sole focus, for example a youth meal program at the YWCA or a backpack program run by a Boys & Girls Club
• Shelter
• Emergency shelter, including youth homelessness
• Transitional housing, permanent supportive housing and efforts to end chronic homelessness
• Housing-first models (programs quickly providing housing and then addressing needed services)
• Achieving and maintaining home ownership, repair and maintenance efforts helping keep seniors, veterans and other populations in their homes 
• Adult Self-Sufficiency: Programs serving adults age 21 and older that help address the following areas:
• Basic hard and soft skills that help adults achieve economic and family stability
• Basic financial and budgeting skills
• Increase employability and wages, including work readiness and job transitions
• Employment of disabled adults

We believe communities should be strong, healthy and resilient. We want livable places for all, where neighbors look out for one another, cultural events are well-attended and people pull together in times of crisis and joy. We work to create economic vitality and cultural enrichment through the following areas of focus.

• Strengthening and supporting small businesses and nonprofits through technical expertise

Volunteer Driven Causes: Ameriprise employees and financial advisors are outstanding volunteers who serve in teams and also as individuals bringing personal skill-sets to nonprofits. Volunteering is part of the culture at Ameriprise and we are proud to support communities through contributions of both service and financial resources. 

Funding for Volunteer-Driven Causes is determined by current Ameriprise volunteerism. In general, funding is in proportion to the size of the Ameriprise volunteer team supporting a nonprofit. A team may include employees, financial advisors and/or staff or a combination of any Ameriprise volunteers. 

Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) 

The mission of the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) is to advance our state economically and culturally by investing in a creative Texas. TCA supports a diverse and innovative arts community in Texas, throughout the nation and internationally by providing resources to enhance economic development, arts education, cultural tourism and artist sustainability initiatives.

Arts Respond Project

This competitive grant program provides project assistance grants on a short-term basis and may include administrative costs directly related to the project.

Projects must address ONE of the following priority areas:

EDUCATION

Intent: Projects that use art to promote innovations in K-12 public education.

Designed for projects that impact Pre-K-12 public school students during the school day. Projects must be aligned with the TEKS and conducted in conjunction with school officials. Projects may occur in a school setting or off-site (field trip). Before and after-school projects are not eligible.

HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES

Intent: Projects that use art to improve human health or functioning.

Designed for projects that focus on health related topics, serve specific populations, or occur in a health care or human service setting (hospital, clinic, senior activity center, women’s shelter, homeless shelter, etc).

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Intent: Projects that use art to diversify local economies, generate revenue, and attract visitors and investment.

Designed for projects that focus on job growth or cultural tourism (festivals, gallery walks, art fairs, etc).

PUBLIC SAFETY & CRIMINAL JUSTICE

Intent: Projects that use art to prevent delinquency and recidivism in youth and adults.

Designed for projects that focus on at-risk youth or incarcerated populations (after school program, juvenile detention center, adult prison, alternative learning center).

NATURAL RESOURCES & AGRICULTURE

Intent: Projects that use art to understand and/or improve the ecological and agricultural environment.

Designed for projects that occur in rural counties (festivals, fairs, exhibitions, performances) or focus on natural resources (oil, water, green art, ecological issues).

Purpose

The Moody Foundation’s Education M-Pact Fund is an annual grantmaking process and a key component of the Foundation’s historic commitment of $1 billion for Texas education over 20 years. The name of the “M-Pact” fund reflects the trustees’ vision of a mutual promise and partnership between the Foundation and its grantees to support student success. With benefits extending beyond grant funding, the Education M-Pact Fund will cultivate a comprehensive network of grantees who are fueling student success in areas of deepest impact and greatest need.

Through an open Request for Proposals (RFP), The Moody Foundation will distribute grants annually to education institutions and nonprofits whose work aligns with the Foundation’s strategic priorities of Early Learning and Postsecondary Success. The fund will amplify the impact of these grants through strategic initiatives including:

• Direct collaboration with relevant governing agencies to identify education funding gaps and strategically deploy resources.
• Building intentional, collaborative networks among M-Pact grantees including a fully funded annual convening among representatives from each organization.
• Shared, targeted outcomes across grantees within each strategic pillar to enable impact measurement for the initiative over multiple years, at scale.

The M-Pact Fund will be complemented by annual regional giving through the Foundation’s traditional grant application process, allowing for continued support of organizations whose work falls outside of the fund’s strategic pillars. This includes broader education giving, as well as grants that support the Foundation’s vision for benefiting the people of Texas. Together, these initiatives will encompass a comprehensive, strategic approach to the Foundation’s education grantmaking and support the success of Texas students from cradle to career.

Strategic Priorities

The Education M-Pact Fund will provide grants across two strategic pillars: Early Learning and Postsecondary Success. Priority will be given to grants that:

• Serve low-income or at-risk populations;
• Support research/evidence-based programs;
• Are collaborative in nature;
• Address one or more supporting focus areas, as further defined below.

Strategic Pillars

Early Learning: By age five, 90% of a child’s brain is already developed. High quality early childhood education during this critical period can have lifelong benefits, placing children on a trajectory for increased academic achievement, personal development, and social mobility. This phase also lays the foundation for early literacy, building toward the critical milestone of reading on grade-level by third grade. The Education M-Pact Fund will prioritize grants that support high quality early childhood education and early literacy.

• Scope: Serving children from birth through grade 3.
• Sample Metrics: Kindergarten readiness; 3rd grade reading levels; institutional accreditations and/or ratings; demonstrations of student, parent, and/or teacher proficiency.

Postsecondary Success: Research consistently demonstrates strong ties between higher levels of education and increased income, alongside a myriad of related benefits. The Education M-Pact Fund seeks to support activities that improve access, persistence, and completion within value-added credentialing programs, particularly for first-generation college students. Eligible initiatives include college and university degree programs, dual and advanced credit offerings, vocational training, career exploration and development during K-12 schooling, broader workforce development initiatives, and related activities.

• Scope: K-12 career exploration and development; higher education and workforce development initiatives
• Sample Metrics: Program engagement and completion rates; credential attainment rates; value-add index ratings; demonstrations of student proficiency

Supporting Focus Areas

• Educator Workforce: Attracting, preparing, supporting, and retaining high-quality educators. particularly those serving children within the scope of the M-Pact Fund’s Early Learning strategic pillar.
• Mental Health: Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students and educators within the scope of the M-Pact Fund’s strategic pillars.
• Special Education: Supporting timely identification and appropriate support of students with learning differences and/or disabilities within the scope of the M-Pact Fund’s strategic pillars. Additional priority for activities supporting students during key transitions (ex – school to workforce).
• Wraparound Services: Amplifying student success across the M-Pact Fund’s strategic pillars through wraparound services including out-of-school-time programs, family health and wellness, food and housing security, and related activities.

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation seeks letters of intent (LOI) from eligible organizations to further the Health Foundation’s goals under the Think.Change initiative to reduce stigma and negative bias associated with mental health and substance use conditions. The LOI must include one of the following interest areas:

• Implementation of evidence-based trainings to reduce mental health and substance use related stigma and bias among people (i.e., teachers, landlords, service industry workers) who have frequent contact with individuals who have a mental health condition and are less likely to receive on the job training.
• Implementation of evidence-based education programs for individuals and families with lived experience. Programs may address emotional well-being, mental illness and substance use conditions, symptoms, management, and treatment options.
• Implementation of evidence-based navigator training for individuals willing to serve as peer support, system navigators, or volunteer presenters, including people with lived experience.

What We Will Fund

Health Foundation’s Role in Reducing Stigma and Negative Bias Associated with Mental Health and Substance Use Conditions

Reducing stigma and negative bias is crucial to mental health and emotional well-being. Public stereotypes and self-stigma limit individuals’ opportunities for good jobs, safe housing, adequate health care, and social relationships.

The burden of mental illness is among the highest of all diseases, and mental disorders are among the most common causes of disability. People with untreated mental health conditions, including children and adolescents, are at high risk for many unhealthy and unsafe behaviors, including alcohol or drug use, violent or self-destructive behavior, and suicide.

Behavioral Health Consortia Informed Programs - Letters of Intent (LOI)

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation seeks letters of intent (LOI) from eligible organizations to further the Health Foundation’s goals under the Behavioral Health Consortia area.

Specifically, the Health Foundation seeks LOIs for programs that address gaps in mental health and substance use systems, with an emphasis on enhancing coordination among regional behavioral health consortia stakeholders as informed by data. The Health Foundation will not consider proposed programs already supported by other resources including government funding or health coverage reimbursement.

The Health Foundation uses the LOI process to welcome various proposals from diverse applicants. After review, the Health Foundation will invite selected applicants to submit a full proposal.

Behavioral Health System Defined

For this LOI process, the Health Foundation defines a behavioral health system as inclusive of treatment, navigation, support, and health promotion services for mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), addiction and related substance use, and other associated disorders

What We Will Fund

Health Foundation Role in Behavioral Health System Improvement

The Health Foundation does not fund illness treatment services. The Health Foundation works closely with the Paso del Norte Center at Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute to cultivate collaboration as a neutral convener for regional community collaboratives and related work groups or task forces. Work to improve the Paso del Norte region’s mental health and substance use systems will strive to achieve an “Ideal Behavioral Health System.” An inclusive system includes criminal justice, law enforcement, veterans’ services, juvenile justice, child welfare, schools, homeless providers, and health systems, organized within available resources at the policy, program, procedure, and practice levels. The “Ideal Behavioral Health System.” is also customer-driven and focused on meeting or exceeding the service and support needs of individuals and families; recovery and resiliency-oriented; integrated, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and organized from a population health perspective; set up to meet the needs of individuals and families with complex, co-occurring conditions of all types. LOIs submitted to the Health Foundation will be in complement with priority goals and strategies identified by the following regional Consortia and related workgroups or task force efforts:

• El Paso County:
  • The El Paso Behavioral Health Consortium (Consortium) works to improve mental health and substance use systems in the greater El Paso and Hudspeth County area of the Paso del Norte region. The Health Foundation, the PdN Center at the Meadows Institute, and critical community leaders lead in maintaining an effective collaboration for the system of care.
• Southern New Mexico:
  •  In Dona Ana County, the Local Behavioral Health Collaborative – 3 (LC3), a consortium focused on mental health and substance use system improvements, is working with Doña Ana County leaders to address system gaps. In Otero County, the Otero County Community Health Council and the Local Behavioral Health Collaborative – 12 also work with community stakeholders to improve the Otero care system. Health Foundation and PdN Center at Meadows Institute staff participate in these groups and assist in cultivating collaboration for system improvement efforts.
• Ciudad Juarez:
  • In Ciudad Juarez, MX, in partnership with the Mexican arm of the United States/Mexico Border Health Commission, ROTMENAS (an acronym describing the charge of the group to improve the behavioral health system, inclusive of treatment and health promotion services for mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other related disorders including substance use disorders) convenes monthly and is building strength, structure, and collaboration among the 47 organization partners.

As part of the Community Ties Giving Program, Local Grants help us achieve our mission by providing small and medium-sized grants within our priority cause areas to local organizations spread widely across Union Pacific's footprint.

Specifically, we prioritize funding for direct services and efforts that build the capacity of organizations focused on the following causes within our local operating communities. Safety

In order for communities to thrive, all residents must feel safe. Just as the safety of our employees and community members is paramount to how we operate, Union Pacific is committed to helping communities prevent and prepare for incidents and emergencies, and helping residents get home safely at the end of each day. As such, we prioritize funding for projects and programs that seek to: 

• Encourage safe behaviors and prevent incidents through education and awareness, particularly projects which focus on rail, driver, bike, and pedestrian safety, and ensure outreach efforts reach underserved populations.
• Eliminate risks and improve safe and equitable access to community spaces through infrastructure improvements, such as signage, proper lighting, and public trail improvements.
• Prepare and equip residents and emergency responders* to effectively respond to incidents and emergencies if or when they occur.
  • *Union Pacific supports publicly funded emergency responders through a variety of corporate programs; only independent nonprofit, 501(c)(3) emergency response organizations, such as volunteer departments, are eligible for funding through this grant program
• Prevent crime and violent incidents and support survivors of domestic violence through efforts that address the root causes of these issues and seek to mitigate their occurrence.
• Build the capacity of safety-focused organizations to integrate practices that improve upon the diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts of the organization. This can take the form of internal capacity building or the creation/expansion of culturally relevant programming and services that seek to impact a broad and diverse audience. 

Workforce Development

For more than 160 years, Union Pacific has helped stimulate economic growth in cities and towns throughout the nation by training and providing employment to millions of workers. More than ever, we are committed to helping underrepresented residents in our communities achieve family-supporting careers like those offered by Union Pacific. As such, we prioritize funding for programs that seek to:

• Put youth on the right track by creating awareness of and pathways toward employment opportunities; building foundational skills, especially in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); establishing necessary technical skills and life skills; and providing mentorship and positive role models for the future.
• Raise awareness of, educate and prepare young adults for middle skills jobs like those Union Pacific offers, for instance through community colleges, vocational and career training programs, workforce readiness initiatives, and programs that assist with job placement and/or on-the-job experience.
  • Programs that develop proficiency in areas relevant to Union Pacific operations such as welding, electrical work, machine operations, and civil and electrical engineering are given priority.
• "Up-skill" the existing workforce by providing training and resources that enable them to reach the next level of their career.
  • Programs that develop proficiency in areas of relevance to Union Pacific operations are given priority.
• Resolve barriers to employment such as transportation, childcare, acquiring necessary equipment for work, and second chance employment programs.
• Build the capacity of workforce development-focused organizations to integrate practices that improve upon the diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts of the organization. This can take the form of internal capacity building or the creation/expansion of culturally relevant programming and services that seek to impact a broad and diverse audience. 

Community Vitality

Union Pacific Railroad is committed to establishing vibrant, healthy and inclusive communities for employees, customers and residents to work, visit and call home. Just as the railroad opened avenues for economic development and opportunity more than 160 years ago, we maintain this tradition by cultivating unique cultural and recreational experiences and equipping community members with opportunities to live healthy, vital lives. As such, we prioritize funding for projects and programs that seek to:

• Create, sustain or expand artistic and cultural experiences offered to a broad and diverse audience (e.g., museums, theaters, zoos, cultural and local heritage, visual and performing arts, etc.)
• Provide recreational opportunities that foster wellbeing, enrichment and/or an appreciation for our natural environment (e.g., parks, libraries, senior centers, recreation centers, learning centers, etc.).
• Revive neighborhoods and main street areas, especially in historically underinvested neighborhoods, to improve livability, promote commerce and attract more residents, businesses and visitors to town.
• Ensure residents’ basic needs are met and barriers are overcome (e.g., safe shelter and homelessness prevention, hunger relief, mental health and community health needs, etc.).
• Offer youth development and educational opportunities to ensure young people can thrive into healthy and productive community members (e.g., mentoring, leadership development, tutoring, services for youth in foster care, etc.).
• Build the capacity of community vitality-focused organizations to integrate practices that improve upon the diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts of the organization. Environmental Sustainability

The future of our business, communities and planet depends on bold, collective action to reduce and slow the impacts of climate change while building a more sustainable economy for the next generation. Union Pacific is taking deliberate steps to reduce our environmental impact and helping our partners improve their own. Extending this commitment to our community investments, we seek to support leading environmental nonprofits and community-based organizations to advance the health of our environment. As such, we prioritize funding for projects and programs that seek to:

• Preserve and restore nature, including programs focused on natural habitats, ecosystems, and biodiversity.
• Protect and enhance water, soil and air quality through innovative and proactive solutions such as water conservation, carbon sequestration and emission reduction programs.
• Reduce waste through initiatives focused on promoting recycling and circularity throughout the community, including recycling and composting programs and other efforts that reduce waste.
• Develop environmental stewards through youth programs focused on fostering environmental appreciation, responsibility, and leadership.
• Advance a sustainable economy by helping communities accelerate their transition to environmental jobs and renewable energy, as well as helping nonprofits and small businesses build their own capacity to operate more sustainably.
• Promote environmental justice through initiatives that ensure access to clean air, water, and land and protect underserved populations from disproportionate and adverse environmental effects.

Speedway Children's Charities

At Speedway Children’s Charities, we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive—no matter the obstacles they face. SCC is a driving force for change, partnering with local organizations to meet the most pressing needs of children in communities across the country. From supporting kids battling illness to providing resources for those facing adversity at home or in school, our mission is rooted in action and compassion. Since 1982, we’ve distributed over $72 million in grants—$4 million in 2024 alone—ensuring that children in need have the support, care, and opportunities to build brighter futures.

Speedway Children's Charities is dedicated to helping children. Through a variety of events and fundraisers held throughout the year, each SCC chapter raises funds to be distributed in their local communities. These funds are distributed in the form of one-time grants among worthy non-profit organizations that address the needs of children.

SCC Texas Grant Program

Speedway Children's Charities is dedicated to helping our next generation exceed expectations and ensuring every child has the same opportunities, no matter the obstacles they face. Our organization is dedicated to caring for children to help them lead productive lives. Through our various events and activities, we strive to raise funds and provide grants to nonprofit children's organizations in the North Texas community. In 2024, SCC Texas distributed over $203,000 to local organizations.

Below are the pillars we focus on during the grant process:

• Critical: victims of sex trafficking, homeless, orphans, foster population, food security
• Medical: illness, dental, disability, therapy
• Educational: tutoring, literacy, after school programs

Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) 

The mission of the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) is to advance our state economically and culturally by investing in a creative Texas. TCA supports a richly varied and innovative arts community in Texas, throughout the nation and internationally by providing resources to enhance economic development, arts education, cultural tourism and artist sustainability initiatives.

Arts Respond - Cultural District Project

Intent: Projects that use the arts to diversify local economies, generate revenue, and attract visitors and investment.

This program is designed for projects that focus on significant cultural tourism projects. These projects should serve at least one of the following:

• High quality arts programming that will attract a significant number of visitors from 50 miles or more outside the community (i.e., blockbuster art exhibitions, national or regional premieres, major festivals)
• Enhancements to the cultural district to make it more accessible, attractive, cohesive-looking, and safe for visitors
• Improved signage and wayfinding for the district
• Promotion of the district; this may include the district’s website, branding, and marketing
• Organizational support for the management and operations of the district (TCA Cultural District only)

Funding

• Minimum Request: $3,000
• Maximum Request: 50% of project budget, not to exceed $250,000

The Dallas Foundation’s Summer 2025 Grant Cycle focuses on strengthening the well-being of our community by investing in programs that prioritize children and families—particularly those who are most vulnerable.

We believe a healthy community begins by supporting its most fragile members. This grant cycle is made possible by endowed funds established by donors who have entrusted The Dallas Foundation to steward their charitable giving for generations to come.

Funding Priorities

Grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations serving Dallas County and working in one of the following areas:

Family and Economic Stability

• Critical Needs – Support for basic necessities such as food, clothing, and emergency or transitional shelter, including assistance for low-income older adults.
• Prison Re-entry and Veterans Services – Programs that support successful re-entry and services for veterans.

• Parks & Recreation – Initiatives focused on enhancing and beautifying public green spaces.

Health

• Healthcare Access – Medical and supportive care for low-income, indigent, homeless, or ill children, seniors, and families.
• Breast Cancer Support – Programs providing medical and supportive care for low-income individuals with breast cancer.

• Pediatric Supportive Care – Services for low-income children facing debilitating diseases.

Intellectual and Physical Disabilities

• Developmental Disabilities – Programs that empower children with intellectual or developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling lives.

• Visual and Hearing Impairments – Support for children with visual or hearing impairments.
