Prince George’s Stormwater Stewardship Grant Program

The Prince George’s County Government and the Chesapeake Bay Trust announce the ninth year of partnership for the Prince George’s County Stormwater Stewardship Grant Program. This grant program encourages on-the-ground restoration activities that improve communities, improve water quality, support the County’s Climate Action Plan, and engage Prince George’s County residents in the restoration and protection of the local rivers and streams of Prince George’s County.

Program Goals

This program seeks projects that improve aesthetics of communities and treat the stormwater runoff that comes from various types of properties, thus reducing the negative impact of this runoff on the County’s local streams, rivers, and other natural resources in areas where community residents live and recreate. Projects must accomplish on-the ground restoration to result in improvements in water quality and watershed health (e.g., reducing pollutants carried by stormwater, reducing carbon emissions, increasing tree canopy, greening areas for beautification and increased community use/enjoyment, and better habitat for wildlife).

As part of an effort to more fully engage underrepresented groups in its grant-making, the Trust strongly encourages projects that increase awareness and participation of multicultural communities to improve watershed health and local ecological ownership. The strongest proposals will show committed collaborators that provide funding, technicalassistance, and/or other in-kind services to support the successful implementation of the project. 

Applicants can request funds from the following project tracks.

• Track 1: Water Quality Implementation: ($50,000 to $200,000)
• Track 2: Tree Canopy: Outreach, Education, Maintenance, and Preservation ($50,000 to
• $300,000)
• Track 3: Community Awareness and Engagement ($10,000 to $60,000)
• Track 4: Litter Reduction and Beautification ($10,000 to $50,000)
• Track 5: Additional Project Support Fund ($500 to $5,000)

The EWVCF Two Rivers Giving Circle Grant supports nonprofit organizations in Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan counties focused on historic preservation and natural resource conservation. Grants ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 are available for projects like safeguarding habitats, engaging children with nature, and promoting recycling efforts. Eligible applicants include established nonprofits and civic groups. A final report detailing outcomes and expenses is required by August 31 of the following year.

The Snee-Reinhardt Charitable Foundation Grant supports transformative programs in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas, focusing on arts, education, environmental health, and human services. With an emphasis on tangible outcomes, the foundation values projects that serve large community segments. Eligibility requires organizations to have 501(c)(3) status for three years, while ineligible requests include fiscal sponsorships and general operating expenses. The foundation prioritizes local initiatives, particularly from Southwestern Pennsylvania and Northern West Virginia.

The Women’s Fund Grant seeks to empower women and children in Topeka/Shawnee County by funding innovative programs focused on economic well-being, STEAM education, health services, affordable housing, and access to healthy food. Grants will support one-year projects with awards under $10,000, emphasizing impactful solutions that foster community resilience and promote philanthropy. Grants up to $15,000 can be used for general operating or program support. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits with a minimum of 12 months operating history. The fund prioritizes organizations that promote community welfare and address critical needs such as hunger, education, and environmental stewardship.

The Trail Blazers LIVE Grant, presented by Avangrid Renewables, aims to empower organizations in Oregon and SW Washington that connect youth to environmental education and employment. With grants of up to $25,000 annually, and potential additional funding for a total of $50,000, this initiative supports efforts to engage historically underserved communities in sustainability and environmental stewardship. The Thomas H. White Foundation offers grants to tax-exempt, non-profit organizations in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, focusing on programs that enhance early childhood education, promote educational success for K-12 students, and support workforce readiness.
